| well today I took off the fuel pump cover and for giggles i tapped on the fuel pump and turned on the ignition key with out starting it to see if the pump would prime..... It did and it started like normal So it look like ill have to get me a pump rebuild kit off of ebay here pretty soon and maybe a new tank. its leaking around the ring on the pump but at least it is mobile for now | |

| Well I was wrong about no juice going to the pump. I got the pump working and took it for a ride and it started running rough and the traction control shut off and u can't turn it back on and the check engine light started flashing and it shut off while I was going down the road and will not start now. I can hear the feul pump prime so its ok. | |

| Have you pulled the codes.? From the check engine and other lights you saw you should have codes that will help diagnose the problem(s). | |

| Why did you re-set codes without writing them down. Re-setting codes does not make the problem go away. What kind of code reader or scanner are you using.? | |

| Unfortunately, nobody can help him until he "earns' some more codes and post's them. Otherwise..............................Oh i don't know I'm Clueless and tired I guess. Probably a daft question but, does your scanner have the capability of saving the codes that were cleared from the car's computer. | |

| My machanic found out what was wrong... the gas tank had about a half gallion of water in it causing it to run fine when it was sitting still (good fuel pressure and everything) till u drove it down the road causing the water to be stirred up. he used the fuel rail to pump out almost all the water and since it had less than a quater left in the tank after he took out the water i ran it till the gas light was on and put some dry gas and some good Shell gas in it and its still running great after driving it for fifty miles. Thank God | |

| Do you have a potential suspect (enemy) or is it possible your getting it from the gas station.? I don't know about your part of the country but we have had some serious rain and flooding going on around here the past week. Things are starting to get better, but we still have a lot of roads closed and houses that are not fit to live in. | |

Albertj im going there to check those out tommorrow and to get some more dry gas and possibly a new fuel filter.....trying to get the bugs out for the "ohio gang" meet in cincinati next month The other thing to keep in mind is that condensation natrually accumulates in gasoline tanks, just from atmosperic air (when you empty the tank something has to go in to fill the void - it's good ol' air). The emptier, on average, that you drain your tank between fills, the somewhat more it will accumulate more condensation. "somewhat" meaning that the condensation accumulated depends on the amount of humidity in the air where you're driving. Now, as for a gallon of condensate water - it takes years to accumulate that much. One thing you would think should keep this from being a problem is at the beginning of winter each year dump a bottle of "dry gas" in your tank. I don't know if that would actually work because I don't know that the alcohol changes the specific gravity of the water enough to make it really mix with the gasoline in the tank. Hopefully one of the other list memebers will comment. Albertj | |
