Info about custom blower work can be found here: https://rivperformance.editboard.com/t10165-fs-karma-kustoms-blower-service#161376Thread contains my attempts to describe my situation. As it stands, I can't afford to provide any more free lunches(with one specific exception.) I'm going to see about getting some spare casings done for me in between jobs at the shop and put them up for purchase as they are done. For the quality and amount of work done on them they will be a bargain, but expect costs to range from 400-500 + exchange of a casing. _________________

| I'm hoping to pick up a winter beater this year so I can park the Riv in my new garage and work on it. I want to get the body back into acceptable form. I haven't had a garage since I moved out of my parents house when I was 18. I'm fuggin excited about it. Yes, I got a house that I get the keys for this Friday. 2-1/2 car attached garage. That's all I car about, and maybe the pool. She can have the rest of the house. The garage is mine.....I'll make space for her car in the winter, but that's it lol. I've been packing up this week, and I never realized how much bs I have. My storage cage in the basement if FULL of car crap. | |

| Thanks guys. I'm geeked about it. Only problem now is that my friends know I have a garage - matt270avian wrote:

I like the Unicorn idea Actually, I can finally put my Series III on this engine stand (still in the box) I have sitting next to my tool box. I want to get it completely apart and rebuilt. I'm thinking I might want to build a turbo 3800. Just an engine for now. Eventually I want to buy another Riv or a Regal from somewhere outside the rust belt with a blown engine or something. Not quite sure yet. Either way, I want to go fast....

| Why not go for a twin charged system? It would be a massive PITA and probably cost more than everything you've ever owned in your life combined, but who cares right? | |

| I thought about that. It wouldn't really cost any more than building a turbo engine. The blower and everything is already there. It would just be a mofo to tune. It's be fun as hell though. | |

| Scott, there is a Riv on craigslist in Madison Hights that looks fairly clean. It has no motor, but the trans and everything else is there. I inquired and they told me they would like to get $600. Just a thought! | |

Chris, thank you. I'm already moved in. I rented a 17' U-Haul and got both places moved last weekend.

| Brought the Rivi in for some much needed maintenance last night. I installed my new Oil Pan, Pick-up tube, and Oil Filter Adapter. All of these are from a 2005 Bonneville. I got them used from Morad. $90 shipped Needed to clean the sludge out, but it's nothing the parts cleaner and hot tank couldn't handle.....I especially like the built-in windage tray. The original tray is part of the gasket and made of plastic. The oil pick-up tube had to be changed because the Aluminum pan has it more centered in the pan, and the Oil Filter Adapter needed to be changed because the factory Riv filter location hit the new pan, and couldn't even be threaded on. My original oil pan has been dented in since the day I bought the car, and during the last oil change, the area around the drain plug twisted a little bit. So, I decided to upgrade. I was thoroughly impressed to see absolutely ZERO sludge or pieces of ANYTHING in the pan. Regular maintenance certainly pays off. 162,000 miles..... Oil pan and adapter off..... New pan and adapter installed!!! I love it. It fits an extra 1/2 quart of oil too! I realize that this might be some good info for the "Aluminum Oil Pan" section. AA, let me know if I should post all of my info for it in that section. This is a great, easy upgrade. It's a little tricky getting the bolts for the adapter out around the axle, but you can do it. The only thing I had to modify was the Adapter. The shape is EXACTLY the same, but there is an extra casting lump just above the upper right bolt hole. You can barely see it in the second pic. It hit the Power Steering Pump. All I had to do was grind it off and then it fit perfect. The Riv adapter had a similar lump, but it wasn't nearly as big. I was covered in oil.... | |

| Yep. It appears that the filter oil will miss the cradle from now on. We shall see... | |
