ive heard of some of the fiero guys using the l67 series 1 with nitrous?so its possible but what would be the limit on stock internals without a tune?a series 2 can run a 50 shot without a tune

There was a guy with a series one l67 shooting nitrous, can't recall the car though. The engine can handle a 50 shot, but your problem will be the transmission. The fiero guys can get away with lots because they are really light, but the weight of the riv, with the shot, is really really hard on the little 4t60e transmission.

That video is a 96 riv (SII) with a wet shot. If you don't care about your supercharger, you can do that. The nitrous its self works terrifically that way but the car will be loosing horsepower and efficiency every time he hits the nitrous due to the fuel eating the teflon off the S/C rotors. The only way I would do it is a dry shot or direct port (really expensive). The dry shot, IMO, needs a few extra things done to work right. I have not yet tested it myself but people on clubGP mostly say a dry kit from ZEX out of the box will work reasonably safely. Since that requires no PCM/MAF tuning, you could do that just the same on a series 1. ZEX suggests you can usually run a 55 shot without retarding timing so I would definitely limit myself to that.
