New Rims For Dave's Reatta

Christmas came a little early for me this year. My wife got me a new set of 18" rims for my Reatta. I will post pics when I get them mounted. As most of you know...I grew up in the 50's & 60's and I love chrome.

Thanks guys...and YES, Sean, she had some help LOL !!! I'll get pics up later this week. Believe it or not, we're snowed in out here in the desert southwest. I have Palm Trees on the street where I live covered in snow.

I agree the Reatta, all Reattas, would look better with different rims. The original ones are too 'chunky' for the car.

I don't mind the original wheels, actually. Your new ones look good, but I think the stock wheels make the car look more like a sport coupe.

Not very good pics...but gives you an idea of the look

Crazy...wheels look good, but hold onto the stock ones. You never know when you'll need a set of snow tires!

RIGHT !!! One never knows with this crazy weather. Things are paralyzed around here, Freeways are closed, no snow plows or salt. Everyone is just waiting it out. NUTS !!! I wanna clean my Reatta up.

Don't take this the wrong way, Dave - wheels look great. But I think you should do one of two things: 1) wider profile tires, or 2) suspension drop. There is a little too much gap between the fenders & tires.

Oh, I totally agree. Right now it has 40 series tires. I will either go with 55 series or do a drop. No offense taken at all. Thanks for your advice.

I think even a 50 series would look good, or a 45 + drop.

Yeah...I do not like the 40 series tires at all, BUT...the tires which are about 80% and the rims were purchased on Craig's for the bargain basement price of $250. At that price, I can live with the 40s till spring and then I'll go from there.

I did the same thing when I bought my wheels from craigslist almost 2 years ago. 18" w/ 215-40 profile tires from a Mazda 3. I ran them summer 2010, then replaced with 245-45 Dunlops in April this year. Oh, I noticed a big change in ride going from stock to 40 profile. The 45s are just right for what I want.

I found mine on Craig's and told my wife to make a low ball offer and the seller bit at $250. I was surprised as there is not a speck of rash. My wife is happy cause she already has my Christmas gift taken care of ... LOL !!!

Was about to say. I'd go with the drop.
