| rivs are good cars, but hard to make fast. look at Eric, he has mods right out the ass, and just hits 12s. you can do the same mods to a W-Body and be close to low 12s | |

That's kinda harsh ... '97.5+ Regal's are definitely 5x more plush than our '97+ GP's, and aside from the cavern-like interior space of the G/H's, I've never felt they're much different from all of our other early/mid-90's GM semi-luxury cars. At that time, they were still emerging from the styling cues (and smells) of the 80's genre. Not that the 2nd gen (97-04) of FWD cars was too much better, since I don't think they cleanly incorporated comfort electronics 100% until the 3rd gen (modern-era... not that I'm a fan of all of the changes & universal bland-ness in late models). The tan/light-gold is modest, but should help with avoiding the attention of certain Crown Vic's. We've tossed around the idea of Corey adding a GS-style lower region 2-tone look, possibly a metallic charcoal, but overall keeping it subtle. Should be a nice car, and finally have him on the road, in fully accessorized comfort, and of course with performance. EDIT - I'd just like to say I've grown fond of the Riv, as I'm sure Corey has also. It will be difficult to send it out to JY pasture, but it's like putting down a beloved pet that's been suffering in its old age. We'll be sure to video-tape one last rev-fest with the motor in it, before yanking it out... possibly put it to Vitamin C's "Graduation Day" and shed a tear, who knows? - Dave

| lets see, take a unstable riv and be killed in a accident, and have to spend 400+ to get it on the road, or get a steal on a 98 regal. i went with choice B. and im happy with the regal. i loved the riv alot. but putting that much money in to a car just to get it to look as nice as this regal is absolutely insane. i would be looking at 500 if i went with cheap paint, just to get it to look decent. i will stop by tomorrow after work and snatch some pics of the car | |

Corey, looks like you spent all your allowance money on "the swap" rather than keeping you car in shape to begin with. The Riv handles well if in good condition and you can make it a lot better with inexpensive mods to the suspension. | |

| There was no chance of "keeping" it in good condition.... remember, he bought this car in that condition about 6 months ago, and this maintenance money would've been required, along with a new engine regardless of direction he was going to take (can't imagine the cost of an S1 L67 rebuild, since I don't specialize in doing charity work for those motors).

| In talking to Corey, my understanding is the Riv suffers from serious cancer to the body. Once the body is bad enough structurally...it's not a good thing to add a ton of power. And...bring it on I'll be ready. | |

To some degree I think people are just razzing you a little, I wouldn't take it to personally.Regals are nice cars I owned a 1990, It is the reason I am a Buick fan.The one I had only had the 3.1liter in it. It was quite quick though. I cant imagine what your gonna have your doing in a few months !Keep us posted on updates.

| Okay, the car looks good, but I don't know if I agree with spending 90% on the engine.
