| Cool, man. You must be excited to get the project started. Are you going to be working with Dave, or is he going to do it himself? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Wow, must've missed a susbcription email ... I'll recap the things on my behalf: - 1998 Riv wrote:

I'm guessing you mean here, not the MN forum... since I'm the founding member out there. (list) For Corey's Riv: I've got a DHP PowrTuner (much more swap-friendly, since all GM V6 pcms are open... or can be in 3 minutes )... My LS1 Camaro buddy has HPT as well, but credit buying isn't my favorite hobby, so that's primarily for his LS1 and the GM trucks at his house. Not ready to make predictions just yet, since I'l be very conservative on how much boost/timing he'll run off the bat, stock on both to start, even with the cam. That should net him at least a decent base time when we go check out the Pony Car show at our crappy local track (ESTA in Syracuse) on 6/29. I've got a set of M&H DOT cheater slicks on 15" Montana aluminum wheels that I've yet to unleash on my car, and Corey can gladly rent once he's got more mods that require it this fall or next spring. We got Corey's motor 100% loose & hanging from a cherry picker, but the CV's weren't playing nice (13 year old car that just spent a winter outside, go figure) ... so I threw in the towel & we'll drop the cradle out the bottom when we tow it to my uncle's shop with a lift tomorrow. That's where I have been preparing to do the final work, so I guess I'll submit to the full-size car rules & go out the bottom for both removal AND install (this is where my dozens of W-body out-the-top R&R experiences have to be set aside, although the Park Ave that donated Corey's setup cooperated last week). All that's left for him to buy before the motor is ready, includes LIM and VC gaskets from GM (dealer buddy for sane price), head bolts, crank & cam bolts, M90 (stock 3.8" pulley to start off), harmonic balancer, and small items during build (RTV, shop towels, etc.). - Dave

Man, steel bolts in cast iron knuckles know how to rust in there (I love my W-body more and more as I get more into these 3800 boats... 1st an Olds 88, then a Park Ave, now this Riv... definitely alot less mechanic-friendly that what I'm used to). Here's the shot as we finally yanked that stripped-down S1 L67 from it's hole... Don't mind the ASE-certified lift strap. That was a gift from the junkyard pull which is going right back to them with this motor. Time to find out if the S1 mount brackets are identical, or if we have to snag some from the 1-2 '96+ Riv's in the local yards. Alot of work left, but the downhill slope will begin once the bay is cleaned out & I put the new parts on the engine. - Dave
