The battery light has been coming on, then it goes off, then comes on again. Hubby has checked the battery so is leaning toward the alternator and specifically the regulator being the problem. The alternator is only a year old. Any help would be immensely appreciated and thanks!

I recommend checking the connections first. make sure there all secure, if they are then it does sound like the alternator. I had that happen on my Blazer. it blew a few fusees then fried the battery.

Your husband is on the right track, but check connections as mentioned. I would start by checking voltage with car running at alternator and at battery terminal. Should be above 14v running - car is telling you the voltage is not sufficient to charge the battery.

Thanks for the info! The warranty expired last month for the alternator but when Hubby took it back yesterday they just gave him another rebuilt one, so hopefully all will be well. Thanks again for your help.
