| http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/p/101-EGR-Block-Off-Plate.aspx What do you all know about this $6 piece of metal with a hole in it? Anyone have it installed? Any noticeable or measurable differences with it in your build? - Quote :
- Description
Our plate allows you to pull the EGR tube from the exhaust so that it will draw in fresh air instead of exhaust gas. The plate is then used to cap the exhaust on the header/manifold. Copper RTV recommended for optimum sealing. Exhaust side plate is threaded for use with factory bolt. Optional intake side is not threaded. With the EGR now drawing in fresh air your intake will stay cleaner and cooler. *Gas mileage will suffer about 1mpg with this mod.
Using this method will keep the PCM happy and you WILL NOT SET AN SES LIGHT or throw any codes!
The intake blockoff plate is also used to block the PCV inlet on a Gen 5 blower when doing a Gen 5 swap.

| Don't know why you'd want to do this. To lose 1mpg, I guess? If you're lucky, you'll see a nice increase in KR during low RPM cruising in 4th gear.
FYI, during boost the EGR valve closes, blocking it off. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^
