| God, I want the Malibu so bad...I have a nice 383 and turbo 400 that would drop down beautifully in there. | |

I got lucky finding that one. A friend of mine chops up old G-bodies and just couldn't do it to this one.

78 Malibu (Future Project)
My good buddy has a 78 malibu landaeu package he bought as his first car with the 305 from an old lady with pretty low miles. It's a cool car and a pretty good project car to boot. It's relatively light and simple enough to fit performance parts to. What's the plan for that thing?

| Gonna be my sons in about 6 years he's a fan of the grand national so if I ever come across a grand national drive train that is the plan...probably just wishful thinking. Either way it will sit in the barn until he's ready to start wrenching on it. | |

| I always liked the style of the late-70's Malibu & Caprice coupes... and of course, they mostly sold sedans. | |

Me too. I particularly like the caprice coupes, they are rare,You can really make them look sinister. a neighbor of mine had a Mint caprice, Factory green glass ,gray interior, and beautiful gloss black custom paint. It looked so mean!

| I like all old school G bodies, but out of all of them my favorite are the 78-81 Malibu's.
This is my favorite of all time. I'm going to my moms in a while and I'll find a picture and possibly a video of my first one. Looked pretty much just like the one in the video. It was also the first car I ever painted (Medium Ford Chrome Yellow)

I'm guessing that includes the "bent-glass" rear window? That's what I really like, the way they took a formal body and put a fast-back piece of glass in it with wrap-around sides... not to mention the reverse-landau top. They also did it on the last couple years of the Monte Carlo SS.

| Finally found a picture of the old 1978 malibu. Not really a picture, had to look through about 30 old home videos and this is the best I can do. Missing a box of pictures somewhere. | |

| I do have one question - I'm considering a fiesta for when I graduate college as a simple daily driving car since I intend to live in an urban environment. Why not get the hatchback fiesta instead of the sedan? Was there a price difference? Or was the sedan better to drive? Or did your dad just prefer the look? Personally I think the sedan is ugly compared to the hatchback but styling is subjective... | |

| The hatch was $2k more expensive than the sedan, and my dad thinks you're still getting more car with the sedan. I like both, would rather they bring the 2-door hatch here, but we got the sedan out the door with an automatic for $14k.
It's a wonderful car with handling as tight as my Si(it weighs some 400lb less than my curb weight of 2,677), but because it weighs so little and has electric steering, it tends to wander on the highway. The transmission's gearing is perfect though, and you'll find merging and passing on the highway as easy as can be, especially with its 1.6L engine.

| I'm going with my girlfriend this weekend to test out a Fiesta sedan for her. My friend just got a manual hatchback model and we were impressed.
My GF are auto-only people and agree we think the sedan is more our taste.
The sedan is cheaper too.
Compared to the test drive we did this past weekend on the new Focus, and remembering the test we took with our friend, the Fiesta is a far better vehicle than the larger and more expensive Focus.

| I personally like the Focus a little more because it has an incredibly solid ride, while the Fiesta feels extremely light and wanders a slight bit, although that's probably just me. The Focus was so solid that it felt like it came out of a machine in one piece.
Your girlfriend will love the Fiesta. It's not really made for full size people to sit in the back, but at your age I doubt that's much of an issue.

| Gang's All Here The Riv is being good today. I supposed its rewarding me for giving it some new brakes. No codes, no odd idling, no noises. I decided I'm going to clean it today before I bring it back to my friend's apartment lot. I swear the Rivs have self-healing properties. My old one's radio gave me issues and then "fixed" itself. Just figured I'd add the names as well since I was already editing the photo. Miata got the name 'little nugget' since non of the previous nicknames stuck (Mia, micromachine, Lightning McQueen). My Riv got the name Poison Arrow the first week I got it cause I was in an 80's music mood and ABC's Poison Arrow was on and I figured it was beffiting of a Riviera given Riv's have Silver Arrow models. The hood is a replacement and its the only part that's purple pearl so its like a poison tipped arrow and it also reminds me of the funky purples and blues of the poison arrow frogs. Lilith is a sexy beast so she got the name of the succubus from the videogame/arcade game Darkstalkers(2). | |

NICE CARS !!! Not yet. I like to save some fun for the kids.(my sister's kids of whom my mom babysits) Ugh, I need a job to get away from it all. As for the cars, I don't have a brand allegiance; I like what I like. I tell people I've got 1 of each of the Big 3. That is if you count the Miata under Ford's rule and the Crossfire as a Chrysler even though it has more to do with MercBenz. I figured talking a lot about the problems I've had with my newer Riv I wanted people to realize its not the original green one seen in my sig but the newer one seen above.

| Current 1998 Riviera, BRIGHT WHITE DIAMOND, med. gray leather, no sunroof. Ordered & family owned since new (South Carolina car never driven in snow, seldom driven in rain). No modifications except wood dash kit and 35% window tint.. Summer only garage queen now driven 600 miles per year, current mileage 66,750. Above average maintenance, garage kept since new. Daily driver: 2011 Camaro 2LT, A6 transmission. Ordered mid May 2010, one month before 2011 model production. Summit White with beige/charcoal leather interior; 19-inch optional polished wheels.. Modifacations: Debadged (removed all chevy bowties and Camaro scripts), custom front grill insert replacing grill bowtie, custom painted satin black trunk blackout, 35% window tint.. Garage kept since new. Hard to believe, but the 1998 Riviera is about 186 pound less than than my 2011 Camaro. | |
