Thanks rick! I just gotta take care of that rust now, it seems like it might be quite fun compared to the buicks rust project lol. - robotennis61 wrote:

ya could a moved to Vegas and saved urself $800 bucks! I think it might have been a bit more than $800 to move out there robo. That and i like snow, just not anywhere near my car. - IBx1 wrote:
- The front end looks much better with the grille and light surrounds painted black. I also love the look of the visor on trucks and SUV's. Not bad for a winter beater, but how many miles are on it? Also gotta wish heater cores were easy to replace anymore...
Thanks, i like the way it looks too. Theres only 153,xxx miles on it, just past the break in period for these straight six fords. Dont even get me started on heater cores, i hadnt had the truck for 24 hours when coolant started pissing on my passenger floor. Right away i was wondering what i had just gotten myself ito, but a quick look on an f150 forum showed that it took longer to round up all your tools than to even do the job. 30 min later i couldnt have said it better myself. Im used to the 9-hour-pull-the-whole-dash heater cores, turned out to be pretty lucky though. - denim wrote:

That's what I like about this forum. No haughtiness, just plain car nuts , casually bringing the assumed dead back to life. Good choice, and best of luck with that old F-Series, Tyler! I know what you mean, thats why this is the only forum ive posted it on. I knew you guys would appreciate it not only because its preserving my park avenue, but because its an automobile. Thanks guys!

Definitely lucky. Mine's starting to go but I was able to flush it enough to get good heat for this winter, plus it doesn't leak anything. You know how hard a heater core is to get to, but can you imagine what the service manual writeup looks like for a Honda?

Lol...well to start i would imagine half is in japanese, other than that i would imagine a heater core would be a nightmare in a honda. Not only because everything is so damn cramped, but even an oil change has to be harder on a honda.

| 300 inline six is 1 of the most durable 6 cyl engines ever built hands down. You won't be dissapointed, we had several of these over my life time as work units on the farm that engine cannot be killed. The body will rot away long before the engine is done. | |

I kind of already have, the snow hasnt even fallen and ive only driven the buick a handful of times since i got this. Its just a lot nicer to not have to worry about getting it dirty, driving on bad roads, getting doored in parking lots, or anything else i have to worry about with my car.

Not bad at all IMO, it could be a bit louder but you can still hear it. I wanted the guy to cut at least one cat off but he wouldnt. Its the stock exhaust to the 2nd cat and then straight piped all the way back with the same tips as my car. Its not anywhere near as loud as the buick but i like it. Ill have to get a sound clip in the next few days.

I will do that in just a few days after I get her detailed.
I am sooooo excited about this car. It is a two pevious owner car and was originally purchased in Tucson, Az and later transferred to San Diego, CA where it was purchased by the president of the Reatta Owners Assoc.

| Looks Great I was looking at a Reatta when I bought my first Silver Arrow, I would like to get one too, but the wife said I would be happier with the SA instead of the Reatta. She doesn't like them?!? I might still get one but I don't want the most common Red/Tan version so as you said "I'll look around for the "right" one". I have seen a few Black/Tan convertibles that I like, that one looks very nice! | |

| L67 swap?
jk it's great. We looked very close at a Reatta a few years ago but it had issues and the seller was clearly hiding something so we walked. Good thing as it led me closer to my Riv!

| Great find...I too have been looking but want only a 91. The 91 is almost identical in electronics & mechanics as my 92 Riviera. The 88-90 Reattas had a complicated Teaves braking system which tend to be problematic (specific regular maintence/possible parts replacement needed).
Go to http://forums.aaca.org and scroll down to the Buick Reatta section (just above the ROA section)....lots of good info and advice there.
Good luck with your Reatta!
