| I lack the software to edit one on, but I was looking at the spoilers on bonneville SSE's and personally, I don't think they would look too bad on a riviera :> | |

| Jon, that looks pretty decent, factory even... Aerodynamically speaking, does it serve any functional purpose? Positive, negative, or no effect on drag coefficiency? If cosmetic only, that's cool, I like the way it looks. | |

| Was it a perfect fit at the mounting locations, sitting nice and flat on the lid? | |

| It really looks great, but I'd probably have to buy one and set it on the lid to see it in person, before deciding to do it or not. You've got excellent pics here though. Is yours white or bright white diamond? | |

| Mine too. Did they charge you any extra for that paint job? I've had a front and rear bumper cover repaint in the last year, and the body shop gets a nice little premium for this special paint. | |

| I'm thinking about getting one and putting it on my spare trunk lid, use it when I want, and not when I don't. It does look good but I like the clean lines of the Riv the way they were built. I'm sure it would look good with the Black Chrome Ractive Tips I've got for the '95...might just have to check it out! | |

I'm not a physics major, but is a spoiler a good idea on a FWD car? Maybe it is, but I have to question the idea. Regardless, you would really need to be moving to notice the effect, good or bad. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| i dont think you would even notice the spoiler taking effect until you got up to a good speed. like 70+mph. the size doesn't really matter as much as the design. they add some drag but the down force gained out-weighs the negative. i dont see where FWD or RWD matters with rear down force, once you're moving traction isnt a problem, but keeping the rear end planted and stable is what i thought the idea was. this applies to a road course not the drag strip _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | I really doubt there is any significant downforce effect on the street, or on a road course. The speeds are probably too low to be a factor. I would wonder how they affect aerodynamics of the car though. | |

| absolutely, a spoiler adds drags, always. But they also add downforce, but not untill high speeds, but a good spoiler cost thousand of dollars. One that has been tested to produce downforce, the stuff you buy for "relatively" cheap likely hasn't gone thru the trials of efficientcy testing. Either way, only the car manufacturer or a specialty tuner could actually provide a spoiler that actually works. As we all know not all cars are the same and it could be impossible to make a spoiler that works properly on all cars. This is neither here nor there. On this Riv, the spoiler looks good. Thumbs up! | |

| Here's a link to a RIviera with 03-05 Kia Rio spoiler installed.
