| Hey everyone, its been a rough couple weeks with the riv. first the speed sensor, a couple days later i was driving the riv and it felt like it had no power, downshifted but felt like a stock n/a 3800. did another run keeping my eye on boost and it read 1.5 psi at WOT, checked the bbv works perfect, replaced the boost solenoid with one from my lss solved my issue. Now the issue at hand. Yesterday coming home from work, waiting at an intersection. advance left goes green i step on the gas car get up to about 10 mph let go off the gas and the car shuts off in the middle of the damn intersection. shifted to neutral started it fired up then didn't idle just died. Started it again revved a little this time was going back to idle but just died again. third time fired up idled fine, drove all the way home like nothing happened. no check engine light, no codes,no security light (although it has shown up twice in the past months while driving around but went away after 5-10 minutes of driving) . tried wiggling the key in my driveway after i got home to check if it was the stupid key chip, but nothing happened car just idled perfectly. car drove perfectly today as well no hard starts or random dying really stumped on this one. first places to check? | |

| For what it's worth. The 'key chip' in my key causes the security light to come on in my riv intermittently. It's usually on more so than off. Sometimes when I wiggle the key or hit a bump it will go off.
As far as I know, this has never caused any issues other than the annoying security light to come on.

| as far as i know the pump is original, and i have replaced the fuel filter with a "high flow" unit from zzp when I did the lim gaskets in august last year. | |

| sorry to restart this thread but the car died again this time i think i have figured out why! unfortunately we got a bunch of snow yesterday and as i was pulling onto my street from a morning coffee run, I was stepping on the brakes and suddenly they went soft pedal right to the floor. not a good feeling glad i was going about 15km/h ended up being the driver rear brake line. anyways while I was diagnosing this under the hood checking the brake fluid level etc. i thought i heard some ticking so i started to check for an exhaust leak (ended up being the flex on the sd headers -_-) so i started to raise the rpm's by hand very very slowly and at about 15% throttle the car went back to idle almost died then jumped back up as i continued to raise the rpms. both times the car died i must have suddenly applied about 15% throttle from a stand still and i guess with the weight of the car it kills the motor. low tps sensor voltage ? i had a check engine light when i first purchased the car for a tps related code but after i cleared the code it never came back. | |

| I would ohm out the TPS with an analog ohmmeter. Sounds like there could be a dead spot in the TPS.
It's easier to "see" the dead spot with the analog meter rather than a digital one.
In the manual it has the test points and meter readings you should see. I forget what they are, it's been so long since I tested one. Maybe someone else can chime in if you don't have the service manual.
