New used car remote from ebay.

Bought from mykeyless.

Worked perfectly with a 2 minute programming.

Short pins 4 and 8 on access port for the duration of programming.
Turn key to on but do not start, locks will cycle.
On new remote press unlock and lock and hold until locks cycle.

Success.

Yep, pretty simple. Got 2 new ones for my car last summer, from a different seller.

me too, i need to order more. I drop mine at least 10x a week

I don't even have a keyless. The stupid lady who owned my car before me lost BOTH sets, and a full set of keys.

God, the condition my car was in when I got it. Looked great, but the paint felt like sandpaper - claybar was REALLY hard work to remove that crap. And scratches all over the top of the car from setting some big-ass purse there. Not to mention the whiskey dents all over the rear bumper.

At least she didn't drive it very often.

Oh, and I just bid on a remote from mykeyless. I'm glad you had good results with him. Did he ship fast?

Just recieved the used keyless remote today. I already programmed it, took two mintues.

its just the obdi II port under your drivers side dash.

Seeing as how I have no idea what an "obdi II port" is...Anyone have a pic or can be more decriptive?

On my car it is above the brake pedal with a sliding cover. Stick your head on the carpet and look up.

It looks very similar to a VGA cable, which is that fat cable with the screws in it that connect your monitor to your computer.

It says something weird like "direct access port" on the instructions, so I took out the screws in my dash and dropped it down, only to find nothing.



Then I figured out what they were talking about.

I bought that remote off E-bay too. but.......
I cant get my car into program mode. Hooked it up at the dealer to the Tech2 and still nothing.
Checked all fuses and obvious stuff. Please Help!

You need to connect the two pins together with a paperclip. Didn't he send you the instructions on how to do it?

I don't remember the specifics, but a paper clip is involved, and you shove it into two of the pins on the OBD II port discussed earlier in this thread. Once those two pins are connected, then it's in program mode.

You could e-mail ebay seller "mykeyless" and ask him to e-mail you the directions.

I tried programming my remote and when i put two pins together my dash guages and power locks wouldn't work.... It was just a fuse luckily... i then took it to the dealer paid 40 bucks and waited an hour or two and was done with it.

For sure I connected the two together with paper clips.
I may be a dumbo so please again tell me where 4 and 8 are.

Hm... I distinctly remember this being very simple. There's no WAY I would pay the dealer any money for this simple procedure.

Seriously, try and e-mail that "mykeyless" guy. He has pictures and good directions, maybe he'll e-mail them to you.

He may have other problems since the dealer wasn't able to help either. I also had no problems programming 2 new Ebay remotes last year.

Samuel - where did you get your remote from? Did it have instructions with it? I'm just curious.

i just bought a remote off ebay...i dont remember the vendoe off hand...but i couldnt get mine to work...i got it in program mode but couldnt get any reaction after holding lock and unlock....tried changing the batt in the remote too..an still nothing...

My friend got it for me off of E-Bay. Yes. Instructions came with it. The exact same directions were on the Mitchell discs. I am sure I followed them. I do not find any metal connector on what is supposed to be the #4 slot.
In any case I have the wiring diagram showing me which wires are to program. When I connect them I am not getting any cycle from the door locks indicating I am in program mode.
I did not pay for dealer service but a friend of mine was nice enough to help me out with the Tech 2. This should have been able to engage the program mode. I believe the remote I bought is fine.
