- My friend got it for me off of E-Bay. Yes. Instructions came with it. The exact same directions were on the Mitchell discs. I am sure I followed them. I do not find any metal connector on what is supposed to be the #4 slot.
In any case I have the wiring diagram showing me which wires are to program. When I connect them I am not getting any cycle from the door locks indicating I am in program mode. I did not pay for dealer service but a friend of mine was nice enough to help me out with the Tech 2. This should have been able to engage the program mode. I believe the remote I bought is fine. Thank you all for your help so far. Verify the FCC ID Code on the back of the remote is:KOBUT1BT. If the code is different it wont work Make sure you are following the directions for the instructions. For instance if you dont have the door closed it wont work. If you turn the switch off before removing the paper clip it wont work. Be positive you have pins #4 and #8 shorted. It would be easy to get the pins wrong... The #4 and #8 pins WILL have the metal conductors in them, so if you look at the pic of the connector above and compare it to yours, you should be able to find#4 and #8. If you count in any direction on either row there is only one combination of pins in the fourth and eighth positions that have the metal conductors in them. Keep in mind your connector might be upside down compared to the pic above. I hope this has not muddied the water even more... Bert

I looked around on EBAY. I almost positive the remote will have to have the FCC ID code I listed. Bert

type that ID in google and it will show you which vehicles it will work on. Looks like they accidentally sent the wrong one. I bought one from the junkyard for $10.00 96-99 Riv, PA, Lesabre and Bonneville all interchange. Just call and tell the junkyard which vehicles to look in. Bert

Thank you all for your help so far. It has the right FCC ID#. If the Tech 2 scan tool wont recognize it, perhaps the remote is defective? Sorry you are having so much trouble. Bert

| Good News. After Many attempts, I finally have a remote. I blew the I/P fuse the first time. I am a complete idiot. I didn't have the key in the off position. Duh! I thought lock was off so........ anyway, did anyone hear a loud pop this morning? That was my head coming out of my butt! Thanks again. | |
