| I don't either, he was just asking how they did it. I'm far beyond the skills to use Photoshop and I'm not about to drop $500+ for something I don't know how to use. | |

| "Photoshop Elements" is a strip-down version of photoshop for the average user. It's more like $70 instead of $400. It has some limitations, i.e. can't work with CMYK, it's clearly not the FULL version of photoshop, but we haven't run into anything at work we need full photoshop for.
You can do a lot with Microsoft Paint, but I can't stand it.

| Get GIMP for free from gimp.org, if all you want to do is change colors. It falls down if you need to do transformations (sucky floating layers that must be at the top of the layer stack, have to do transforms like scale/rotate/perspective individually instead of at the same time).
It's as complicated as Photoshop but there's documentation online. Google "Grokking the GIMP."

| I bought a car last night to use while my Riv is down for paint. I figured it would be cheaper than a rental for a month. It's a 1997 Buick LeSabre with 130kmi and a banged up front passenger fender. $250.00 and it runs great, no leaks, new tires and brakes. Bought it off of a older gentleman. Anyway- can anyone give me tips on removing trim and glass. Can you still get the rubber around the front and rear windows? Could someone photoshop a satin black scheme on my car. I have bounced it around little bit but haven;t made up my mind. Satin black with anodyzed black chrome trim and complete gloss black wheels with a red ring on the outermost lip. At one time there was photos of a few cars in this scheme on the forums but I can;t locate them anymore. I think they were European cars- BMW and Merc's. | |

| Here are a couple examples of what I was thinking for paint.... Wheels glossy black with red ring... This color of satin black... A couple other examples... Or maybe dark charcoal satin... | |

| The grey color on the Scion - no
the satin black as shown on the SLR - YES! with the red lined wheels - very possibly but I'd see how it looks with the chrome first

| I posted the Scion to show the wheel color. If I go satin it would have to be black or very dark charcoal- not the gray.
I wonder what it would look like if I did not black out the chrome trim around the windows and wheelwell and stayed with the polished lip I have on my wheels now. Photoshop anybody??

I automatically assumed you were keeping the chrome trim. That was my concern with the red lipped wheels. I don't think those would work too well together. But If that trim was black, I'd say you could do the red lips. You're gonna be very close to the wildcat look with a little touch of something that reminds me of the grand sport C4 Corvette. I know you'll make it look good.

| Could you make the wheel well moldings and grill opening a gloss black like you did to the window trim? How about gloss black on the lower plastic too rather than the orig gray. Anyway to just black out the wheels completely with a red accent stripe along the outer lip? I know it's a lot to ask for but I appreciate the help. If I go this route, I will need to black out the rear tail lense and do something about the front ambers... | |

| thanks a ton mark. I'll have to put some thought into this. I don't really like the red now I can see it on the car. Maybe I will just stay with gloss black on the wheels, trim, and lower plastic trim with a satin black car. What are your guy's thoughts? | |

Been there done that...as I'm sure you know! Which trim and which glass are you talking about removing? Windshield molding......'95-'99...25680935 Back Window molding..'95-'99...25680936 I was able to get them from the dealership when I got mine, I got a couple of extras, just in case. When I had the quarter windows put back in, figured I'd have that done professionally, he said that in order to replace the trim around the front and back windows that they had to come out, NO they didn't! Monster Parts has most of the trim available but you have to get above $500 on one order to get discounted shipping and handling. I get most of my parts at a local dealership for 25% off of list so unless it is a major part Monster is higher. BUT, when I ruined my drivers’ side quarter window removing it, I got that from Monster Parts for $275 delivered, list was $375 then! Most of the trim clips are still available from the dealer, rocker molding, the rubber along the edge of the hood, and I got assorted others also. I also replace the rubber seals behind the doors, they were available a year or so ago. W/Strip, Body Side...P/N...R/L...25626936-7 HTH, let me know if you need more info!
