Deek,
I really like the silver roof concept. Go for it.
Hell if you don't like it after you can always paint it again, depending on the time you have at the body shop.

both ways look good.
in bmd's photoshop pic, the riv's black portions look like the finish is in satin clear. it's risky to have a satin finish, but it would look great with the high gloss silver and satin black sides....btw deek, are you thinking about getting sqrivis bumper when its done?

I'm thinking about the Silver Arrow's silver now - anyone know what that paint is called, or a code?

Actually Derek, I used Randalls' Silver Arrow pic as a resource for the silver roof on the photoshop job I did in the profile pic that you provided. This is it...

Paint Schemes/Rim Chops - Page 10 375399537

I think that would be a great choice!

@robotennis61- Actually the black parts are supposed to be glossy but ended up looking satin, no I just didn't have time to to do as good a job as i would have liked. It was just to give Derek and idea of what it would look like.

Thanks, I think that's perfect! Plus I'm paying homage to my roots, forget that Pontiac silver! (it's probably the same anyhow!!!)

Okay, so I finally figured out the paint color. The Silver Arrow used...

(drumroll...)

Galaxy Silver Metallic!!!

The same as the Pontiac Silver starting in '00 and newer Grand Prixs. Riviera used it first though!

Not on a 90's Riv. Maybe a 60's or 70's Riv.

Well I heard the Silver Arrow may have actually used "Sterling Silver Metallic", NOT "Galaxy Silver Metallic". I haven't found the paint code for that yet. (Thanks Randall!!)

Interesting ideas, guys. I've thought about repainting mine; even though I'm happy with my paint color, I know it won't last forever. This isn't totally original, I know, but if I were going to paint it, I like the idea two-tone black, with all of the chrome painted with a transparent black, then clear coated. Rivman did something similar a few years ago.

I took Randall's '95, put on Timo's 18" Tomason rims, painted trunk, roof, mirrors, and hood matte black, tinted windows, smoked lights, and finally darken the chrome trim and wheels. Looks so mean, imo!!!

I might also try this look with my existing slate grey metallic paint instead of gloss black, would keep the matte black, though.

I'm surprised it's not silvermist. How many silvers does one car company need?

If a tranny is working, would it be worth it to get the Intense complete overhaul kit instead of the upgrade kit? I'm assuming the complete kit includes parts that wouldn't need to be replaced unless you'd fragged you're tranny. Maybe I'm wrong. But if you can get the tranny upgraded for around $2000, that's a real good deal!
JR, I would post this question under a different heading to get some experienced response.

I like the rims but I wouldn't put the black center section on a green/blue car.
