| A while back, while reading through all the Q & A's, I remember seeing the location of the fuel filter and helpful tips on changing it . Now that I need this information, I can't seem to find it anywhere. I've been reading for hours and have not run across it yet. Could someone PLEASE help me! I have a 95 sc Riviera and I LOVE it! That's me and my Riv in the avatar. Thank You soooo much for the help! | |

| You stole my idea Kathi. I just hadn't figured out if I wanted to pose in a string myself or get someone else to do it this summer. Either way I think it's neat to see this display of provocativeness in the company of a riviera instead of the typical 150 thousand dollar ricer show car that runs 16's. kudos to you | |

PLEASE get someone else... Welcome Kathi, missed seeing you sign up in Jan. Post up some full size pics of your Riv in the Rides forum. You need to submit a nice shot or 2 for our 2009 calendar. Tastefully done of course.

| It'd definitely win ROTM... It'd be a nice addition to my 'snow queen' pic for January. Kathi, when you're done with the fuel filter, have you come up with a name for your Riv? I call mine, well, go here to find out, and post yours there! | |

| I appreciate all the compliments, too! My baby keeps dying like he's out of gas, right in the middle of the road! Of course, it's always at the most inconvenient times. Then again, when is a convenient time?! At least I've been able to roll him out of the way, rather than push by myself. High heel boots are NOT the best choice of footwear for pushin a car! (Learned that the hard way) | |

| If it's stalling out the fuel filter is most likely not the problem. Could be some more technical issues like TPS (does it restart and idle okay?), or a bad fuel pump. Usually when a fuel pump dies, it won't go at all though, or can only idle.
Can you hear the fuel pump running when you first turn the key on (but before you try to start it)?
This could be a number of problems.

| As with every other problem I've been experiencing, lately, occasionallythe start and idle are veryrough. By rough I mean comparable to an un-tuned, un-loved, abused, neglected, ugly, doo doo brown 1975 Thunderbird I owned in about 1989. Looking back now, It's surprising the car would start and run at all, with a worn out 4 barrel, fouled plugs, & suckin-air big time due to gaskets (or lack thereof). I recall many times trying to start the ole bird and having to give rapid-punches to the gas pedal, first real quick & shallow getting gradually deeper as the idle Very slowly started to smooth out. Kinda like it's loaded up real bad, only different. Yo, RIVI Baby, that's his name, has been doin that occasionally for about 4 - 6 months, more like rarely, but once is enough to cause alarm for me. I LOVE my RIVI Baby, hope I don't have to give him up for another(riviera that is). I am lookin, just in case. Maybe I'll just get a newer one, he has 183000+ miles, but only 40,000 on the re-built trans. Gonna try to find someone to read the codes for me today. Haven't had much luck finding anyone with a clue about that around here. Kansas City, Mo. Any body know someone that can help in my area? I agree that we all love the dancing banana, think I'll just throw him in for fun | |
