Can't say I'm surprised. Legit Ebay auction? lol. There's a lot of not so legit Ebay auctions out there. wink

I'm thinking about emailing ebay about it and try to get the auction pulled so no one else has that happen to them like it just happened to you Charlie.

Isn't it a breach of user agreement to sell something that doesnt exist? I mean, yeah, I got my money back, but still.... it's not right.

I am going to put up a 2010 Dodge Viper for sale for $5k and when I get a crazy amount of bids, I will tell the winner that I actually don't have it. lmao

I'm not really sure. They did at least give you a refund without hassle. If they didn't leave you feedback yet. Then be careful, because depending on what you say. They can always put up some bad feedback as well.

You guys ever check this shop out?

EATON Detroit Spring
Is the only source for the correct Leaf and Coil Springs for your vehicle because we have:

Over 24,000 Original Manufacturer's Spring Blueprints
An in-house design staff
Over 166,000 stock leaf spring & coil spring applications
Over 70 years of leaf & coil spring manufacturing experience
Custom leaf & coil spring manufacturing ability
A full line of Attaching Hardware and Shocks

Just talked to Gary there... he says they can't make Riv springs because of the pigtail end we use is not something they work with.. regrettable, isn't it?

He also said the 2005 Park Ave. w/ F41 suspension uses the same exact springs as a '99 Riv? I dont see how that's possible. But he said, "yes, I am looking right at it. Same exact part".

They said they stock OEM springs but don't fab custom springs.

Makes sense. Every parts cross reference I've found says our springs are interchangeable with 97-05 PA. Same goes for struts.

Gee, I don't think they fit. I cut and welded mine on bonk

They also fit the LeSabre as well. GM didn't change designs until the Lucerne came out. Now that I remember it, the '99 Riv does have different springs than the previous years, but I believe it's just the rears. I remember looking up all the F41 stuff. I had like 5 different part numbers for springs to sift through and figure out what was what. The rear F41's were considered "towing" springs and also put on the LeSabre and '99 Riv. It was the fronts that were totally different.
They were definitely stiffer. I was shocked at the amount of force it took to install them on the front struts...even with a compressor. The rears weren't easy either...

Hey Abaddon, got a question for ya.I was told by the guys at Coil spring specialities that the springs front and rear are interchangable between all the years,95 to 99. Can you confirm this? I'm asking because the 95 front springs has a different part number than the 96 and up.

Anything for you Robo love
I only looked up the fronts for reference. All P/N's are listed for the Riviera
GM P/N's are as follows...

'95-'96 22132791 Front coils

'97 22197216 Front coils

'98-'99 22197212 Front coils

As far as cross referencing goes, I'll have to do more digging for you. GM has a tendency to put different P/N's on things just to keep track of the year gaps in their catalogs, or maybe even for rate/firmness, I'm not quite sure as GM doesn't list spring rates. Stupid, I know. I looked at a few dozen P/N's when finding the F41 stuff, and seeing if it would fit. More than likely if the strut P/N's are the same for all years, then the spring will fit. I know the rears should work, as the rear suspension from '95-'99 never changed. The spring perches are the same.

One of the things that bother me about the P/N's and if they will fit is the 1st four digits. Notice '95-'96 start with 2213, and the rest start with 2219. That means something...to GM anyway. I think it's a fitment thing. I'll see if my parts manager knows...

aww thanks fer that buddy! Yeah, when I bought them Kevin at CSS swore up and down that they are all the same.As far as I can tell ,the only difference is the series 2 has the strut mounting holes on the knuckle spaced closer together.Kevin told me the dimmensions are identical.
I'm cleaning out my garage and I'm looking to sell the springs, only problem is the different part numbers.confuses everybody.

the strut mount 902998 is the part # for the 95 thru 99 Riviera.

pics

springs - FAQ: Aftermarket Lowering Springs - Page 14 HPIM1779_zps0b533725

The spring perch that the spring sits in measures 27 inches in circumferance. If the series 2 strut perch measures 27" in circumferance too, then the spring will fit all years. Of course the strut/spring assembly is off the car and not compressed. So if one would want to measure their car all one would have to do is jack the front end up and measure the length of the assembly.
The spring measures 11 inches. If the OEM spring measures 12 inches then the CSS spring is in fact one inch shorter. All measurments are of the strut/spring assembled of course.
Until someone proves different, there should be no confusion now.The 95 thru 99 springs are identical and interchangable.Front and rear.

Robo, that is not true.
Front springs are not compatible
Rears ARE compatible.
Measuring the length has little to do with it. It's the pigtail end that sits in the boot that is different.

Says, moog, CCS, Eaton Detroit, and the guys Scott linked to!

I don't think that would be wise. The STS was a V8, and was heavier. The stock STS springs might be a little stiffer, but I fear that it would raise the car up and make it pogo slightly given the weight difference in the front end
