replacing the power steering pump is very easy on our cars. i believe the labor guide calls for like 1 hr. same goes for the rack. 2 bolts and undo the lines, it looks like it may take about an hour or 2. maybe a lil longer if you dont have an air compressor.
check your power steering fluid, you might be low on fluid. also if you can look at the power steering pump and see if it has any wobble to it. take the belt off and pull and turn the pulley my hand to see if the pulley comes out of the pump or is hard to turn by hand. if so then replace the pump. make sure when you replace it that you bleed out the system, just take the filler cap off while the engine is running and turn the wheel to each lock. make sure you dont hold it on the locks. do that bout 2-3 times to make sure you get the air pockets out.
