| Hood is fixed. Simple.
Sunday afternoon I put my toys away for the winter. The Gods were shinning down on me in that both, yes 2 cars, fit on the patio we built a couple summers ago.
With the new Riv, I've been having a bit of trouble getting it started. Turn the key, sounds like it wants to start but something is just not catching. After a few tries we're good.
I explained to my dad that I should keep the x-fire out front just for like a week, if my Riv didn't turn over I'd still be able to get myself to the train. Makes sense. But no, he jumped over every other word just teling me the cars are going in back today. He's really annoying like that. No what-if's.
Monday, today, I get into the Riv and turn the key. Same issue, we got power but nothing is turning over. I pick up the phone and call dad who's already at work. "Guess what...." I am like the only one who makes sense in the family, honestly.
So I finally got the Riv going and off to work.
For a winter car I'd really like it to start instantly like my old Riv. Any ideas to the problem? My brother in law is going to look at it tonight.

| Is the starter cranking? You have power, but no start? If it's not cranking at all, and you're getting power, try starting it in 'N'. The Neutral saftey switch may be out of alignment. I have this problem with my Riv sometimes too. If it dosen't crank in N, jiggle the shifter back and forth (in N without shifting it) and if you still get no response, you've got a different problem. | |

| ^ I'll try that.
I think it is cranking.
If I had to give it a wild guess. Spark Plugs just not firing, cause if they did, it would be started, right.

| There's all the basics to check - you need air, fuel and spark. Hard to tell without being there. Fuel pump? weak battery?
That hood replacement bugs me a little. Wonder if this is one of those (relatively few) Rivs that caught fire due to the fuel line problem on the 3800s that cars besides the Riv were recalled for? Someone posted last year I think a picture of one of them that had burnt the engine compartment . So they drop in a replacement engine and flip it.
Naah, that's way too much drama. Could be as simple as something fell on the hood in a garage or some such.

| Last Sunday I saw my old Riv. It's still in my town but I never really see it. This time it was in a lot down the street from my house. It was the perfect chance to take a pic of the new with the old. I grabbed my camera and found some batteries. By the time I got back to the lot, it was gone. So I headed up to the golf clubhouse, where the Riv's owner works, to see if I could have a second chance. No luck. So here's some pics anyways of my new Riv | |

| Wow, took me a minute to find my post. The search function didn't even work.
Please shoot me a PM if you move my posts, thanks. I got confused there.
Anyways the license plate is censored. It's not real.

| Runs fine, not looking to mod if it will do more harm than good.
Back in the day, I heard the Series 1 didn't have noise dampening foam in the air box. There is a S2 mod where you chip away at it to get a better sound.
That'll do for me. Until I can get some glass packs or something. But not right now, I don't want to draw too much attention to this half-fast looking Riv.
But just curious, would I be able to put on a smaller pulley for the Supercharger to get increased power? Or is that only for S2's?

| You can do pulley drops on series Is. I think zzp might sell some pulleys actually. there are some mods for series ones but not a huge amount. Since you're probably not looking for crazy power i think a few bolt ons will suffice for you.
As for paint , why not that burnt orange/copper paint on new GMs? Nissan has a color like it too that i like as well.

- I've considered Buick's new Cocoa Metallic from the Super series and Enclave. And as a added touch, paint the roof a light gold. This would be an homage to the Park Ave Ultra's black and silver. And it would bring my 1995 up to date.
For the brown and gold idea, I found a Rendezvoux with similar contrastic colors and it looks great. This is more of a cinnimon color red/brown. Since my mac no longer has Photoshop would someone be able to do a quick mock-up of a similar cinnimon color for the body and a light gold for the roof?

I did too. I was hoping to find a similar purple and touch it up but it would have still degrated over time and I needed to paint the hood for resale. I love my Riv but I do need something newer eventually. It's not like it has been smooth sailing with this one. What I liked about the purple hood was that it accentuated the 'blades' of the creased areas above the headlights. It made the car look intimidating, now it's pretty but very tame and common. If I were to keep it forever I am still interested in giving it the Vintage Mint from the last generation T-birds with a white roof. Sharp as Hell.
