Weight is more important than diameter. IIRC the stock rim/tire weight is 50-53 lbs, so if you can come up with a 24" rim and tire combo of the same weight you'd be fine. Not counting other factors that come with running a wheel that is taller than stock.

| Nice rims Snowdog, reassured the assumption I had that 18" rims would be the best larger size to go with without entering into "DUB" territory (i.e. tacky and over done).
Josh, it has been my opinion that whenever I see black rims with a silver lip on a red car they look bad. Especially a maroon kind of red like you have. Vivid red like a Mazdaspeed 3 or a GTO is one thing, but dark reds are even worse. I saw a Lesabre that same color with black rims - looked awful. I've always thought those style of rims went best with two colors: White and Black cars. I've seriously considered similar style rims for the Riviera since it is white, but I'd rather get some Lucerne rims (if I can ever find a set that isn't outrageous [i.e. $1000 - thanks I'll just buy aftermarket rims...]).
I see sets of stock rims go for $250 with tires on other cars but never any friggin' Lucernes. Apparently, people with Lucernes are either not putting on big rims or they are keeping the other set of tires for winter driving or as a spare set...

I have a guy that can get you a set of lucerne rims if you ever are in the detroit area. you can have them crispy new, all in the same night

| Sport Edition SE-14. Not all that sporty looking despite the name but it looks like it could be a factory rim. | |

| If any one else needs to know, Tire Rack has them among others. I found them in a magazine ad, reasonably priced.
Can anyone post a pic of them on a Riv from Tire Rack's previewer? The previewer isn't working with Firefox/Linux.

| I would but for some reason all my pictures are being saved in chrome html format...even in firefox...
But i'm picking up a set of park avenue ultra rims like oldsman had pretty soon. Although it may be a while before they get on the car. ( 2-3 months probably)

| What do you guys think about these on a white Riv? Both are MSR 045 18" rims. Also liking these MSR 044 18"ers And these look sweet, MSR 096 20"ers Not sure if I like these MSR 042 20"ers or not If anyone would like to photoshop these on a white Riv I'd love it, but what do you all think? | |

| ...Pff, performance. I eat plenty of cars as is. The ones that'd beat me I don't mess with. I just think it looks sharp myself. I'm really curious what those white rims would look like since I have a white car. Without the red line I'd think they'd look better.
Seriously, if I start dumping the required money into performance I'm not going to care about rims for much longer. That would be waaay down the road. And good luck with that, my dad's 3800 blew up with less miles than mine probably because of his modding - he will never let me do it to my car now. Anything over a CAI, 180* T-stat, or 3" DP and it probably won't fly. Pulley, cam, rockers, Custom PCM (Which is a bitch since I have the the one year 3800 S2 that the tuning companies don't give a damn about), etc etc - fughedabout it. I could maybe get away with headers but I have no way to do it. I think he'd say if I can find someone to do it and pay for it then fine but as a self project - hell no: No garage, no spare car to drive while it's being worked on, no time, no money, no experience doing something of that nature, no I don't think so.
This car is past its "Moddable" prime period. It's now in the long-term life period and should be treated in more of that fashion. A little get up and go but mostly (Well, the idea is mostly - how much I do that may differ) to drive smooth and easy. Which means I'll make it look as good as possible (save for paintjob, I'm not dumping $2k+ into this car for a paintjob I'd get no reimbursement for if it were wrecked or anything else).

| if you use 18'' rims then better use 245/45 tires then your spidometer will not lie so much. | |
