- Turtle,
Did you buy the 18" wheels new.? or did you find them used.? That will be the last large investment, other some big dollar PM that I want to accomplish this summer. But 18" wheels and some nice HP Summer tires is something I still want to experience. Rick I got them used from a local(ish) clubGP member in practically new condition with a spare rim to boot. The tires are eagle F1 GS2 summer tires in 245/45/18. I definitely notice the difference in road feel and cornering and I like it. Forward grip doesn't seem any better on dry pavement than the Yokohama all seasons I had on the 17's. I haven't tried any cleansing burnouts yet though. I reckon, they'll be a bit stickier with a little staging than the 225/50/17 all season tires I had, at least that's what I'm hoping.

| Good luck and congrat's on the find.
If things stop breaking around the house, and consuming my expendable money, I should be able to get a set of 18" wheels and tires. I'm not going to do any serious looking until i have the money in hand. I'm paying the Honda shop to rebuild the 4 carbs on my only Japanese bike and then it will be ready to sell. If I can't accumulate the money before then I'll have to use some of the sale money on a set. Been wanting to do this for 2 years now, but kept spending on mod's or accumulating parts for additional mods. Well, I decided to just be happy with the car the way it is under the hood and just put some nice wheels and tires on it for the summer and run my stock ones for the winter.

Rick - Tire Rack has them in chrome for $185 ea. I'm not sure I want chrome or that style wheel yet. I have time to accumulate the dollars and make up my mind anyway. If I can afford what I really want, they will be imported from Europe. The Euro is dropping some against the dollar, so if it continues I may be able to pull it off.

| They would probably be a little bigger looking than the ones in that photoshop depending on if you go with 17 or 18". Not bad looking wheels though. If you can swing a good deal I say go for it. | |

| keep in mind that the actual car with the actual wheels right in front of you is almost always better than anything anyone can do in a photoshop. i photoshopped my wheels onto my car before and i thought it looked great but i couldnt believe the difference when i put them on | |

| They always look better in person than an image, but a good PhotoShop job can look just as good as a photo of the real thing, sometimes even better. Here's a faked image of wheels I wanted, I made it in January: And here's a digital photo of the actual wheels on the car, taken in April: _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

thats a damn good photoshop, and without the real picture with them on i would think it was real. but you can still see that the first pic has a bit more sidewall than the real thing. i personally like the real pic because it gives you a view with the stance, offset, and any other dimensions that effect the way the wheel looks on the car. im not saying that the photoshop is bad or that you cant get a good idea of what they will look like, but to me the real pictures are always the best. not to mention when you walk outside after looking at your photoshop and see your car you wont be bummed that the stockers are still on. i hope you understand what im trying to say, im not bashing photoshop or anyones skills i just like seeing the real thing.

| I don't think anyone doubts you that seeing the real thing in person is preferrable to a photoshopped image. Real is always better than pictures. I was just showing how close one can get with photoshop, before throwing down $1000 or more in rims/tires. I would not have known my rims would look as good as they do without creating the photoshop first. Some folks try to imagine what wheels will look like - I prefer the free preview. It's pretty close.
I should mention the tire profile I have on the car now is slightly smaller than in the photoshop, because the tires came with the rims, from a Mazda 3. The next tires I buy will be more like the photoshop version, using a taller tire profile to fill in the wheel well a bit more. Personally I prefer the photoshop look to the real photo. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Jack makes a good point. I only take it as far as needed in order to visualize the rims on the car. Mission accomplished. There's a lot more than the reflections that aren't perfect. Although I could take it do the next level, there's just no need to. It's not an art contest, it's a quick visual aid. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |
