I think you guys helped me pretty good with this decision. I'll be getting the SE14's, likely wrapped in General Altimax's at 235/55/17. I still need to do more tire research, but I have a set limit I'm trying to keep myself under. I had those same tires on my Bonneville and they did great and lasted nearly 7 years between the former owner and me, and gripped pretty darn good.

What's your ETA to installation? I'm looking forward to pics! bounce

Haha sorry to disappoint you Charlie but I probably won't install them until Late March. There's no point in this area (PIttsburgh, basically the same as you) to get them until I know the weather will behave a little bit. I have saved about 3/4 of what I need, so I'll be buying them in the next few weeks but won't mount them until later.

I'm anxious too, very excited.

I waited until April to install mine. There was still a little snow on the ground though!

They look alot like his, but I would have to say that one being damaged and repaired would hurt the price. I don't think they are worth that much IMO. I also don't know what these wheels go for new either.

PostSubject: Re: FAQ: Rims, Wheels that Look Good on the Riv   FAQ: Rims, Wheels that Look Good on the Riv - Page 28 EmptyTue Feb 19, 2013 11:56 am

These are exactly the same as mine (size, color, offset). In 2010 I bought 4 in perfect condition for $500 with 50% rubber, so price seems fair if they are in good shape. Don't really need the 5th wheel, but they don't make them anymore, so...

Things to consider:

Those 40 profile tires are a bit small - it will throw off your speedo/odom unless you get a tune.

You'll need hub-centric rings. See hub/bore/lug thread for info on that.

Sure you can. I really don't care! Personally, I think this wheel looks better with darker paint though.

I am looking for a light weight, 5 or 7 spoke, silver rim. maybe a polished lip, maybe not.18" or 19" would be nice wink

Hardest part is finding a wheel that's not made in China. Goodness! no

Here you go guys - finally got these things delivered and installed!

Sport Edition SE-14's (17x7.5, +45 offset) with Continental ExtremeContact DW's in size 235/50/17. The tires are within 1/2" of stock height, being just slightly taller.

Those rims look just perfect on the Riv.
It's so nice to see someone buying new rims that are not black. Rivs were meant to be sporty & classy. (no offense intended to anyone)

You know what's funny Tyler, a friend of mine mentioned those same wheels just the other day for me. I think they would look awesome, if you mean these:

I keep finding that their headquarters is in Anaheim, CA but cant find anything about where they are manufactured.

Edit: According to this, made in Germany
