| I thought he was running Headers. Wouldn't they eliminate the restriction on #3 exhaust port.? | |

- Thank you, Aaron. I can't believe simple water hurts the damned coating!
It's not so much the composition of H2O, it's the velocity of the droplets as they hit the spinning rotors. If you've ever seen a water jet cutter at work, you can understand how this might happen. - Quote :

Wouldn't they eliminate the restriction on #3 exhaust port.? Headers help, but the front bank still has a longer route, and that cylinder location still gets hotter. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

#3 is in between #1 and #5, making it hotter. #3 is also on the front bank, which on a stock engine has a more restrictive exhaust route. These factors make #3 more prone to detonation and piston failure. #4 (on the rear bank) is also at risk. It is for this reason DHP tunes the PCM program so #3 & #4 cylinders to receive a slightly higher amount of fuel compared to the other cylinders. Genny V's are a whole new animal! They have a different rotor coating

| The coating might be better for efficiency and lower friction, but how do we know "different" means it will stand up to water injection? Besides, wheren't you talking about N2O anyhow? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

Yup i will be spraying a Wet shot through my GEN V.. I have heard.. and read that the GEN V rotors hold up to nitrous, gas, water, meth going through them.. I am hopping on that bandwagon and agreeing with all who i have heard this from!! My rotors are perfect..

Although you might be able to get away with N2O, as it's more of a gas than a mist when you spray. I don't think that would hurt any rotors, Gen III or Gen V. Btw, a "wet shot" would mean you are mixing fuel with liquid N2O and injecting after the blower (LIM). If you are spraying N2O directly into the intake, that's a "dry shot". And for the record, I'm not a fan of the 9.4:1 compression + boost! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

And for the record, I'm not a fan of the 9.4:1 compression + boost! Actually I will be using a "pirahna nozzle" It has ONE nitrous jet and one GAS(e85 ) jet... It will be placed in my TB spacer/adapter.. looks like this

| Do they all it a Piranha because it chews up Teflon rotors?!! Done right, you should run 12s with N2O. Tune carefully, and good luck! Photo tip: press the little "flower" button on the camera next time you take pics of a spark plug! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

Wow that engine sucks, it runs out of steam at 4100 rpm! No wonder GM went to the shitter.

Wow that engine sucks, it runs out of steam at 4100 rpm! No wonder GM went to the shitter. It's not quite as bad as it looks for itsself. It gets a heavy body caddy from stop to cruise pretty quick. What I think is funny is that motor is an aluminum block with iron heads lol

| So, what all do you have planned for this engine? Maybe a bulleted list would help me out. It's hard to follow everything that has happened in this thread. | |
