For your supercharger application, yes. They reformulated the oil to non-syn after the M-90 (Series 2, 240 horse SC) came out.

| I didnt know that. I am sure that is part of the debate between using motor oil in the s/c. Makes sence as I know that the m90 genIII needs special oil
2 bottles to be exact and if you need to buy a third and use some of that to top it off at the bottom o the treads.

| Clean the MAF sensor maybe? Takes about 15 mins. Use electronic parts cleaner spray. Be careful handling the MAF, it looks like a cheap plastic part, but it's far from it! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| how will i know if the MAF sensor needs to be replaced? there is no check engine light. in my camaro, the MAF is shot and a check engine light is on. when in gear and i hold the brake to the floor, and give it alot of gas, it chugs badly. | |

| You don't need to change it. You just need to clean it. Make sure you have electronic parts cleaner spray. Otherwise it can leave an oily residue. BTW, did you change you PCV valve when you did your tune up? | |

| About the only thing left is the coil packs I guess. But they don't go bad very often. Your using the higher octane gas aren't you? | |

| I will testify that bad coil packs will cause it to run bad, but sooner or later it will throw a code. Same with the MAF. I had both issues, MAF and coil packs, both similar type problems.
Coil pack cause a serious misfire in cylinder #6 and cause vibration, bad vibration.
The MAF caused a serious hesitation like I was out of gas. I would hit the pedal and I wouldnt go anywhere for a second (or less, felt like forever).
Doing a top engine clean woudnt hurt. It is very very easy and kinda fun.
You could also try and clean the throttle body and check it out while you clean it. However I think the how to on the throttle body cleaning is lacking as I know how to clean it but not how to take it off!!! lol

| Where in Wisconsin are you? If you're anywhere near Stoughton, I could probably help you out sometime. I have a scanner as well as some known good parts (such as coils) that we could try. | |

| Ahh, UW-Whitewater is my alma mater. Well, I'd be willing to take a look sometime. My work schedule is never the same from week to week, and in fact I'm not 100% sure what it is like this week yet. I should be available Thursday and Friday. | |
