| Now I don't want to look under mine.... It was completely rust free minus the exhaust when I looked in the fall. | |

| By getting another car to put your engine and trans in, you mean a riv of course, right? | |

Perhaps. That would be ideal of course. It just depends on what I can find. It needs to be the right color, the right condition, and obviously the right price. It's definitely going to be a Buick though. Either a Regal GS (which has more potential to go fast, and go fast parts readily available), or a Riv. If it were a Riv, it's going to be another '98. Regals are everywhere. There's about 15 for sale in the immediate area around me. There's only 1 Riviera with 240k on it, and it's rough. Like I said, I'm actively looking. I won't pull the trigger until I find the "one". My nice brand new, GM discontinued S/C belt tensioner assembly just showed up. Hopefully this cures my intermittent squeak and/or other noises. Should have it on by the end of the day.

| That's one reason I don't like to let anything sit for a season. Unless you can garage it... drive it! | |

| Well...New S/C Belt Tensioner cured all the belt noise. Let's see how long it stays quiet. I think I've deduced the horrible noise under load to a pinhole somewhere in the rear Header. I went around the entire thing. I found 4 loose Header bolts, and both clamps on the Crossover were loose. I tightened everything. It seems to have quieted down at idle (placebo effect?), but it still screams at WOT. It certainly isn't the engine making the noise. This thing pulls hard and runs great. Unfortunately, it's loud enough to match the blower in volume.... I really don't want to buy another set of Headers | |

| I can certainly test the audio recording quality of my phone out the window, or as close as possible. That gives me an excuse to rip past the Subaru and Infinity Dealers tomorrow. All I hear all day long are turbo Boxer 4's and high power, small displacement 6 cylinders. Our street could use some good ol' American supercharged noise | |

I don't really mind the sound of Subaru's though......

Me either. They sound pretty sick. It's just day after day after day gets annoying. Charlie, my laptop stays at work on top of my toolbox. At night I just browse on my phone. I've been quite busy at work and don't have much time except for an occasional reply. I'll get them up.

Good to hear it worked for you. I wasn't gonna say anything beforehand but I replaced my tensioner back when and it didn't help at all. Curses.. Come to think of it, you're probably gonna have to machine some clearance on the tensioner assembly to get one of the IC hoses through it when you get into doing that in case you haven't seen about that already.

Yep. I literally had to pry the Tensioner back hard to get the but behind the pulley off. I couldn't figure out why I couldn't get the socket past the pulley. Well, it wasn't "released" all the way. It was stuck and apparently weak. Now I have 2 extra pulleys if I ever need them...I replaced them awhile back. Good info on machining the tensioner assembly, thank you. I haven't really read about it at all because I'm not ready to do it yet. I'm thinking that I'm just going to get the header noise squared away, then start building the other engine to slap into the new car when I find it. The IC will go on that car...

Ha. Might be a bit breezy by then. Did I mention that my Amplifier went up in smoke too? This car is seriously giving me hints. Well, it's raining and shitty (38*) today. No Dealership fly-bys. Supposed to be 60* tomorrow with even more rain

How did you manage that? I've abused mine pretty hard and I'm sure AA abused it before me. Still going strong after a looong life.

| Don't know. 2 weeks ago, I went outside and started it up...let it warm up. When I came back outside and got in it, I could smell electrical burning, and noticed I had no bass. I immediately turned off the Amp through the radio. When I went in the trunk, both 40A Mega fuses were popped. When I say popped, I mean black and blown up popped. I replaced the fuses, and the damn thing went up in smoke, literally. Just from sitting in the driveway! | |

| A Grand Prix got traded in yesterday. 160k miles. Silver Summer Touring Edition. Ya know those ones with the different ground effects and wheels? I haven't got it in the air yet, but this thing is gorgeous. PO took extreme care of it. Hope the price isn't right otherwise the Riv is going Astalabyebye.... | |

| As much as I love the styling of the Riv, those are really nice looking too, especially if it has the roof rails. And it would be the best way to drop 600 pounds or so. | |

| Nvm. It's not supercharged. Don't want it. Deek, there is a G8 GT out on the lot right now. I've seen it around here for a couple years. Guy down the street owned it. He must've traded it in and bought something else. It's bright Red with Black wheels and lowered. They're asking $19,500 for it. NOT gonna happen | |

| What about an STS in good shape? You could make us happy by putting the northstar in the Riv, and then make the STS people happy by putting the 3800 in it. | |
