| Not getting much and getting nothing are two different things. It should be tight. No play at all. If there's play in it, it's bad, period. | |

| Gotcha. I didn't know how tight that was supposed to be. I figured it would be alot looser too. Wonder if my right side is going soon too. It had just a little bit of play as well and now that I think of it not as much as the driver side did. | |

My understanding was that a very slight amount of play was normal/acceptable, but you should not be able to move the top or bottom of the tire more than 1/8 inch or so (which isn't much).

| If one side's looser, that side is bad. If both are the same, it's probably okay. I can't remember, but I think I've felt a tiny bit of slop (like .5 mm at the rim). That doesn't concern me so much, but 1-3 mm is a big deal. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

We replace them, or at least give the customer a quote if we feel any play at all. They shouldn't move. It affects wheel alignment, and causes play in the steering wheel. That 1/8" turns into 1/4" if you consider it going in both directions.

| Went for a drive after work and the clicking is getting louder. I don't hear it when I yank the wheel to the right, but I hear it every time I yank it to the left. I have to be going about 15mph to be able to do it constantly. It still does it when I hit a bump too. No matter how fast or slow I'm going when it makes that click the sound is the same each time. Same loudness and sound. I don't know if that helps any as to what it is. The other noise is still there too. That hasn't changed any. Maybe a little louder I suppose.
EDIT: I decided to do this. I'm going to buy a hub and the removal tool. I already had an axle and then I'm going to try to work on it Thursday after work. That way I will have the parts for whatever is the problem. Will post what the problem was when I finish. Thanks for the help everyone I do appreciate it.

| The hub was bad, but the clicking noise when I turn or hit a bump is still there. | |
