| dunno, I'm a fan of having the TC locked up. IIRC you set the TC to unlock at a lower TP? I don't want my TC unlocking while going up slight grades and such, as my roadmaster does currently with it's 2.56s. | |

| Yeah, that's how mine is set for normal driving. But if cruise control is engaged, it uses the stock TCC program. It's a huge difference between the normal lazy TCC operation vs. a smooth transition into in and out of lock. TCC lock-up is still the same as stock, it's only the unlock that I changed.
It's a preference thing for sure, and it may have something to do with mods. With my car, stock TCC lock up values = lots of boost at low RPMs when you hit the throttle. I'd rather use the higher RPMs to get that power, but that's just me.
One of the great things about PT is you can change settings to experiment and then change right back 10 mins later... Half of what I know about using it comes from just trying stuff out! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Ok thanks Aaron! The seller agreed to a money order. Man I hate paypal even more now. I don't blame the seller as I read the paypal user agreement and he isn't protected on sales to unconfirmed addresses.
It's going to be awesome to tune for the VS camshaft. I GUESS I'll have to upgrade my exhaust too.

Do you have the PT dreww? yes, but the 96' transmission settings are limited since I rolling with the 4T60 and not the 65. No performance shift settings/options either.

| The new software supports all 3800 cars. You have to use DHP's forum to get the appropriate bin files. If you order from Wbody store, just email them and let them know it is for a riviera. | |

| Well, after hours of reading DHP forums, I was all ready to try out the scanner. Things didn't go so well. I had to mess with the serial/keyspan settings for hours. At some point, by pure magic, the serial cable just worked. Then I noticed that the program things the Riviera is unsupported. No matter, I can still read/edit/scan. But what really ticked me off is that I am getting blatantly wrong cell values in a lot of places. Even DHP's 1.5 bin has zero values in some weird-ass places (like injector skewing = 0 on 4 injectors!). So I submit a trouble ticket. The only thing that we can thing of is that the laptop I am using (my GF's) is setup in French. Apparently, other users have reported problems of the sort too when the default windows language isn't US English with non-metric values. I'm really glad I caught it instead of just loading up the 1.5 bin. All I was able to do was modify the stock bin to remove the cat converter code. BAH!!!! now the riv is going into hibernation for a LONG, LONG time. I've already seen snow, so Nov 1st it will be going into my garage for an undetermined amount of time. I am being posted out in April for 8 months, so I guess it will not be used next year | |

| Sorry you're having issues with the PT, that really sucks. The language thing could sure be part of the problem. Did you post on the forum also? I don't recall seeing a thread. I got my PT a couple weeks ago, and had no problems getting it setup and did a PCM read, and some scanning. I have a serial port on the used Dell I picked up, so no USB to mess with. I've also been trying to read as much on the forum as possible, but it sure is kind of hodge-podge. Too bad Jerry's Tuning Guide went away before I got on board... | |

| Injector skew setting on my 1.5 BIN:
100% for cylinders 3 & 4, 96% for cylinders 1, 2, 5, 6
I assume this is because 3 & 4 are in the middle, hotter and more likely to knock. But zeros, that's not good! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| I didn't post on the DHP forum because I wanted to solve it on my own. They aren't really newbie friendly and I knew for a fact that 0 was the wrong value.
I'm going to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan.

| Agreed, the DHP forums are so dense and unstructured, it takes forever to find something. The problem compounds itself because newbies can't locate stuff and ask the same questions over and over. I don't think they even have a FAQ.
My advice is ask questions here until it's something we're all stumped on. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^
