I would see about 1-3 degrees of KR at full throttle sometimes with my stock pulley. ding ding ding stop right there. If you have full throttle KR you do not reduce pulley size. Figure out what's causing your KR and lick it first. Did you read the faq? https://rivperformance.editboard.com/t3656-faq-smaller-sc-pulley-what-sizeToo late now, but you have some work to do figuring out the root cause of your KR and taking care of it before things get worse. Time to get a full scan tool that can record several parameters at once.

| Check this out. On the commute to work this morning I was able to get up to 7psi on straightaways with only ~1.5 degrees of KR. I was trying everything I could to get at least 3 if not 5 degrees and I couldn't. Now I am super confused. Would the cold air have something to do with this? Strange because I noticed I had less KR in the heat during summer.

| OAT can have an effect. These like the cold air because it's denser air.
You should really record a few scans so we can see what's going on. There is a lot more information needed than what you can see.
Have you read the entire FAQ? It's a long but worthwhile read.

| Just got back from lunch. I was hitting runs that got me up to 4-5psi with 0 KR. I am so confused at this point. Just a couple days ago that would yield at least a few degrees of KR. I will keep scanning and watching..
Also note an interesting coorealation that was addressed earlier. My squealing belt has all but been silenced. Maybe it was messing with the knock sensors?
Any chance that the PCM takes time to 'learn' things? Like after dropping pulley size it would take some restarts for the PCM to catch on to the new PSI and what not? I have no idea, just thinking out loud to try and understand my ride.

| KR is going to vary based on a lot of factors in addition to boost. Heat, fuel, humidity, altitude, load (gear, throttle, grade). It's not going to always be an exact number because there are variables at work that you're not aware of or not considering. Cold air certainly can effect the KR, as it's more dense. In effect you've added a bigger intake in the winter months. This is why the car feels faster when it's cold - it is faster. KR is one penalty of that extra power. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| LTFT is one important parameter. Also O2 sensor at WOT. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

Today I was making 8-9.4psi all day and had 0 KR 95% of the time. I saw 1.5-2.5KR only one time. This artic air hurts my bones but the Riv is loving the hell out of it. Gotta get a new battery soon though!

that manifold cleaned up good! Robo, I am surprised you're not rockin SS headers at this point! I got the Plog for $100 and when I look at it and admire the craftsmanship, I know the material, labor, and skill are worth more than $100. It's a piece of fine art. And yeah, it cleaned up real nice. Today I also received: Ceramic crossover pipe, 3" gasket for the down pipe, O2 emulator, IAT extender.(not as long as I was hoping for) (and yes, that's what she said) Let the mods roll on! The 3.6" pulley swap and this 5 degree air temperature have given my Riv power like I've never felt before. I know you guys are worlds ahead of me in the mod game but I am none the less, impressed and inspired. 8-9psi of boost with 0 KR is AWESOME!!!

| Oh nice so are you welding it in or? Do you know what gaskets we would need if deciding to bolt in? | |

| I am doing a 3" gasket bolted to the collector/dump off the back manifold. then im going to clamp the 2.5" end of the downpipe to a 2.5" resonator that will be clamped to the rest of the 2.25" plumbing.
Hope the exhaust sounds decent when i'm done.. I don't want to weld anything so when it's time to modify again it will be relatively painless.

| For the last 2 days my low oil level light has been coming on for the first couple minutes after starting the car and turning off. I was due for an oil change and took it in... I've got a mushy gasket and a SMASHED oil pan. WTF. I've never jacked this car anywhere but the proper jack spots. I wonder how/who did this!? Do i HAVE to replace the oil pan? Can I just do the gasket? Maybe the dent can be hammered out? Do you think a previous owner did this with a jack or ran something over or what? Any forensic scientists here? | |
