I've got a mushy gasket and a SMASHED oil pan. WTF. I've never jacked this car anywhere but the proper jack spots. I wonder how/who did this!?
Do i HAVE to replace the oil pan? Can I just do the gasket? Maybe the dent can be hammered out?
Do you think a previous owner did this with a jack or ran something over or what? Any forensic scientists here? Some (sub)genius might have jacked it by the pan changing the belts. A mech did that to my Riv a while back. Also think about the possibility of road jetsam.

| Changed oil with 100% synthetic droid bot oil and changed fuel filter today. I'm well aware of performance placebo when changing anything in a vehicle, but, and not that I had any issues before, but it feels like my car starts INSTANTLY now when I turn it over. It started just fine before, but now I sense, and yes it could be all in my head, (i've only started it maybe 5 times since I changed the filter), but it's like super responsive now. I checked the old filter out, and yeah it looked kinda old used and beat up and it dripped funny out the output end, but I can't say for sure if this had a difference in fuel delivery. | |

| Into the belly of the beast. My plasti-wood on my shift panel was gettin real nasty and chippin off. I swapped in this center console today with a near mint, darker than the prevoius, plasti-wood shift panel. Looks so much better now. Also got to repair the center armrest latch release. FINALLY. Went for a run today by the flooded river. Didn't see any bodies. | |

| In my opinion, I have officially killed the ultimate sleeper detail on my car today. I plastidipped my turn front turn signals.. I did an awful job at laying on an even coat so when my signal blinks, it's bright an easy to see, its just spotty with dark and light spots.. I will for sure have to redo it, but when the lights are off behind the ambers, I think it looks badass. Can you tell which side lamp i started polishing? Did some tests on one today to see what I could get from it. | |

| From my perspective, it looks like you started working on the passenger side turn signal lense. It just looks less foggy and clearer. I'd like to know how you got it to that point in a few words if you wouldn't mind Charlie! | |

| Which plasti dip did you use for that? Go crazy with the smoker spray or use a solid black? | |

| As a matter of fact, the drivers side corner lamp is where I started sanding and polishing.
I used the black dip. I did two light coats and then a 3rd super light coat. With lights off it looks jet black. With lots on, it's perfectly transparent.
Taking the lens out of the bumper and doing a true nightshades spray and polish is probably the proper way to do this, but, AINT NOBODY GOT TIME FOR DAT!

| *Ideas brewing* hmmm
And that drivers side cornering lamp looks very good. Back to clear instead of yellow. Very good.

| Thanks! Not done yet! I just did some tests with abrasive surfaces. I need to still get it polished and finished and then do the passenger side! Lots of elbow grease needed! Not the best thing to do after working out!
When I eventually cut my bumpers up and make a body kit, I will tint them properly.

| Your Rivi looks awesome Charlie. I always liked how the front end looks without the license plate. The cops around here would pull me over for that over here. The chrome grille mod looks awesome too | |

Thanks, homie! I'm going 2 years strong with my Riv and haven't had a problem with the plate yet. I've been pulled over a half dozen times but the cops never mentioned my plate. I would never drill holes in my bumper. F that.

| Well.... my next purchase is going to be wheels and tires. Once I get those, I am going to start thinking about body work and paint. Depending on my budget, I am either going to get a nice pearl paint job, or I am going to dip my car myself.
Nothing wrong with dipping your car if you do it right. I've seen lots of amazing results. Not sure how a flat color would look on the Riv but plastidip makes pearlizers and glossifiers to spray over the color coats.
Either way, fresh paint will make your Riv look GOOD. Mine needs a new coat REAL bad.

| That's true Charlie. I originally wanted to do a flat black but now undecided. I was considering a Pearl again but also need a new set of wheels | |
