Picked up a set for $38 shipped... What a steal.
These will be going into the Rivi once they arrive.
The car already has an aftermarket JVC deck in it. No amplifier or subs, yet. This is my GFs car, not mine.
Now thats Im a car audio dealer I can get some good deals. But for $38 you just cant touch this...
Who knows how many sets are left, but this is a steal of a deal folks!

I assume the price with shipping is negotiable? Ya, he has a BIN or you can submit an offer. I heard he was taking $40 shipped so I low balled @ $35. He came back counter for $38. Pffft I can do that The closer you are to LA CA the cheaper you might get them...

| MB quarts are pretty high end speakers. I'm sure this is a lower end model...but still a steal. I picked up a set! | |

| From what I can gather these are pre-Maxxsonics buyout. These were made in Germany, not China.
This is a higher end set, even though its coaxial. Very rare to see an external passive crossover with a coaxial.
Coaxial will be better for out cars anyhow. Helps keep the source point one in the same. Also less modifying of the car, keeps stock appearance.

Agreed. I actually mounted my SAS components with a custom bridge to mimic coaxial set-up. I used to run a set of JL Audio XR coaxials with external passive x-overs. The design and cones sourced from old German MB Quart. Great speakers. Will probably pick up a set of these if I get to order in time. I have listened to these a long time ago. Very flat, not harsh up top. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| I'm sure this is a stupid question but I better go ahead and ask - they are sold as a set of 2, not individually, right? Cause I just ordered, and if I only ordered one I need to act fast so I don't end up paying xtra S&H. | |

| Looking forward to it. You guys let me know if a similiar deal comes up to replace the rear speakers. I've had about enough of this Concert Sound II business. I'm officially saving for rims however and need to be thrifty in the meantime.
BTW Aaron it says they've got 80 pairs remaining, so it's not too late if you want them.
Make a $25 offer and you'll get them same as if you used Buy It Now.

| Slap these in the doors and you may not want any speakers in back. | Dammit AA that's too easy. $25 to take my stereo from zero to hero? I can't live with it, life is meant to be hard!
So you wouldn't put in an amp either? Subwoofer? Surely these little speakers can't have enough bass.

| I would buy a small stereo amp (50wrms x 2) to power them. You can put it under the dash or maybe under a seat if small enough.
Maybe get a sub later on. Something like the Infinity BassLink is a nice set-up and can be had for $150 on amazon. It's powered, taps into your rear speaker wires.
But I would still not waste money on rear 6x9"s unless you prefer the sound coming from behind. In that case, mount the MB Quarts to adapter plates in the rear deck. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| These will easily clear 50 WRMS a side. They will probably take 100 WRMS without issue also.
Once I get mine here I can run them and post some T/S Specs.
I would ditch the rear speakers. Add an amp for the fronts and add a sub w/sub amp. Or if you do it right- get a 4 channel amp. Front section for the front speakers, rear section for a sub.
I can get you a BNIB w/Warranty American bass SQ475. That would give the coaxs 75 WRMS and a single 4 Ohm sub 200 WRMS. For the sub you could go with a single American Bass DX 12... That would rock... And all on a small budget also!

| Used amps I would buy:
(highly recommend!)Adcom GFA 4402 Rockford Punch 150 (golden age car audio)Linear Power 952 Eclipse 3620 Precision Power 2075M (classic PPI)Precision Power Art 2075 Alpine MRP-T130 (sick!)Autotek 7100 BTS Phoenix Gold XS2300 Phoenix Gold M25 (probably will last forever)MTX RT2120 MTX Thunder 280 (can't go wrong with Nak)Nakamichi PA-300
And my personal favorite:
Zapco Studio 50
If you want to step things up, I use old a/d/s power plates like these in my system. a/d/s invented the high-end car audio amp. Plus, they had a great look, imo:
a/d/s P4100

| WRMS = Watts Root Mean Square, or nominal power output. It's the power an amplifier can produce constantly, at rated distortion specs, safely without failure. A good amplifier can double it's RMS Wattage output for short periods. This is called peak power. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Man wheres the SoundStream love at?
Any of the Old Reference series (no s or sx ones) are good.
I did wind up with two 160's's for my tweeters though... The S is usable, the SX were poop. The originals is where its at...

| SS Love! 1 SS Ref 300 was missing in that pic too... I need another Ref 500... lol I got my 5.25's in today. They are rated for 50 WRMS people. Im kind of shocked by such the low rms... But it is what it is. I didnt pay for insurance on the package... It was a bit beat up when it got here. 1 mid suffered a bent end, thats all thankfully. The sellers packing wasnt the best but Ive seen worse... Mines fixable with some pliers Heres some pics: | |

| It's fine. Remember, a 50wrms amplifier can make double that for short periods (music demands it). The Quarts can take 50 watts all day, and more power for a brief time if needed.
Stick with something close to 50 watts (RMS) x 2 amplifier power. A little more or less is ok. You won't need any more power than that, imo. 50 watts/channel from an amp is a LOT more than the same rating from a head unit (don't trust the bogus head unit claims you see). _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

50 WRMS is what the speakers are rated at. It would of been nice if the seller had some of this info listed... Oh well though. Still a good deal. I got an old Punch 40 to put on these for the Rivi.
