| My '95 Riv needs serious cradle attention, and my main ride, an older Explorer Sport is getting long-of-tooth. New (previously loved by another) ride below, along with mods planned. Okay, I know it's conservative but it effectively makes it mine. And visually less tall and less naked. This car carries a lot and gets me anywhere in the Great White North. Loaded/Nav/DVD entertainment//Everything else, including excessive gas mileage Good deal in spite. This is one of those "Find the difference" thangs. | |

| I've always liked the Mountaineer, but I'd leave the side decal and emblem turn signal off. The 2-tone paint is nice but that silver by itself makes the car look classy and luxury. With the original euro-style side marker, it blends in well at a parking garage for Nordstrom's or something. I like the 2-tone blue they came in: | |

| Thanks for the response Ilan. I like the two-tone also, but think the original approach was too heavy handed... more contrast than needed to make the point. I'll do less. Euro?... no thanks... this is an American product that doesn't need to apologize by association nor need foreign intrigue I think you'd look good in an X6 Thanks! | |

| I also loved that generation of the Mountaineer. The 'cages' over the tail lights just seemed really cool even for Mercury. I love the headlights too way ahead of it's time; very similar to the 1st gen Fusions. | |

| Sean, CONGRATULATIONS I really like that Mountaineer and generally they have been very well taken care of and represent a very good value. I love those Mercury emblem marker lights you have planned. Very nice touch. | |

| Thanks Dave. This one was several grand below anything else like it. The owner chose to sell this rather than his other ride... a Hummer. Maybe the Hummer is better on gas Also installing a high-end remote starter... will function from a full mile away, and actuate all the amenities. Most important in my case, HEAT; in your case AIR Distance is key for me as I am required to park in a garage and shuttle-bus to work. With this babe I can have it toasty upon exiting the bus. Heat my seat, please! Please don't worry that this will spoil me as I installed all these things on my old Explorer.. am already spoiled | |

| LOL reading the direction this thread had taken. My 1996 Riv. has been parked in my underground garage since late Nov., just collecting air-borne winter salt stuff. First week of Jan. a little import with new snow tires rear ended my 2011 Camaro. Those snow tires still slide on ice. Here in Ottawa daily tempt's seldom get above 0F, serious cold during Jan. & Feb. It is so cold, I took the Camaro back to the dealer this last week just to add air in the tires as it was too cold to do it myself. This time of the cold year, I would like to drive a steel studed tank of a 4-wheel drive SUV. | |

| It had the perfect sound until it broke, nice and deep with no farting...for an extra $0.04 of welding the inner pipe to the base of the muffler tip they could have made serious competition for the name brand catbacks. It's a shame but I learned an important lesson that while pipe is pipe, welds are what you pay for(or not). | |

| Subject: My new ride (a little opposite of my '89 Riv) Mon Jan 30, 2012 10:02 pm | |
| Hey Gents (and ladies) It's been a while since I've posted and been on here. I try my best to check in as often as I can. I've just been crazy busy the past little while. Halloween came around, then Christmas (which was nice), the my Grandfather passed away on the morning of the 28th, then my birthday came up on the 30th, then new years (lets just say I don't remember a whole lot between the 28th and 1st), and as of the 28th of Jan, another passing of a Grandparent. Needless to say I have been rather busy. BUT! The good news. During all of this I bought myself a new ride. I know I have been mentioning buying a Jeep in a couple other threads. Well... I bought myself one. Not brand new though. I bought a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo Rocky Mountain EditionPurchased with 152xxx kms on it. (now has 159xxx) It has the 4.0 Litre inline 6 with the quadra-trac II tranny. All-Wheel drive Upgrades: 4 inch BDS suspension lift AirAid cold air intake 33 inch Wild Country Radial XTX tires 16" Eagle Off Road alloy rims (not sure what model) 2 1/2 offset. Darkened headlights Well, enough talking about my new love in my life. time to show you. Shortly after my grandpa passed away, my cousin and I went out to his old farm to just take a look around and think about memories. Keep in mind, the farm has been uninhabited for 6 or so years (he got into a car accident and couldnt live there anymore). So we took my Jeep out there and asked me to model around the farm a little hahaha. (two of 3 loves in my life. My Jeep, the Detroit Red Wings and my Riv) I took that one ^^ My cousin in a lead photographer and reporter for a Herald in a small town and area in Alberta. (phenomenal photographer IMO) And these last two are when I found a 1 square foot puddle about 3 inches deep that turned into a little bit of a mud pit. Which was rather quite funny. It was in some farmers field. Also, the first weekend I got it. So thats my new ride. The Riviera is in storage at my uncles farm, for the winter. There are a lot more pictures of the farm that I'll gladly share with you guys in another thread. They are just crazy awesome, is all I can say haha Anyway. What do you guys think?! PS, man does it ever dig in the mud. | |

| This really is a nice looking Jeep. I've seen a lot of Grand Cherokees but never the Rocky Mountain Edition; I really like it.
The silver on the front bumper makes it look more like a newer Jeep which is great for an older model. Kinda looks like a Land Rover/Hummer in certain lights.
Have fun with it. | |

| The black cladding makes it look much cleaner and newer than the usual gray stuff. Nice find! | |

Have fun with it. The Rocky Mountain Edition was brought out for 2 years. 2003 it was the Rocky mountain in Canada(in lou of the Freedom edition in the states). and in 2004 it was Rocky Mountain in both countries. Also, when these pictures were taken, its almost the middle of winter. The fact that you dont see any snow nor me in my winter jacket, is a very RARE occasion. We've had a very mild winter so far this year. Thanks for the comments! Any ideas for future upgrades? There has to be a couple of you who are into digging. | |

| Interesting data on the Reatta, especially the signed builder list. And, yes, I'd go with the redlines | |
