| On my 98, the cassette is stuck and will not eject. I get a error message code E13. How do I extract that cassette without damaging the cassette door.
Thanks, Gary  | |

| Gary, I had the same problem a couple years ago. This probably isn't the response you're hoping for, but I was never able to coax it out until I replaced the head unit. Once it was removed, I took the unit apart and retrieved the cassette. And that's the last time I ever used a cassette! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| There must be some troubleshooting info in the owners manual? I'll have a look, or have you checked already? | |

| uh, the service manual mentions "radio replacement"... if the tape won't eject.
In the care and cleaning section, it stated the tape player should be cleaned every 15hrs of play time. I doubt anyone ever does that. Maximum 50hrs between cleanings.

| Needle nose pliars. Worked for me. If you are not careful you may knick the tape and or the opening for the tape. | |

| my uncle got one stuck in there and nerver got it out, so when i bought the car from him it still had a tape in it but then my cd player broke like 6 months later and now...3 yrs later that cd player broke what luck! im sure you can find w/e songs were on that tape online for dl. then just use the cd player. or buy an aftermarket tape player btw mp3 players or ipod adapter are the way to go! never have to change anything out, no mater how long the trip is _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | CD's are still my preference for in the car. I have an input for MP3, but almost never use it... I hate cords. In-dash MP3 would be pretty cool though. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| I really enjoyed my MP3/WMA CD player in my bonnie. I don't mind standard CD players but I would rather have in decending order:
1. In dash MP3/DVD/CD player 2. Aux hook up for my 20gig player 3. Standard CD player 4. Satellite radio 5. Radio transmitter hookup (like iTrip) 6. Cassette

| i dont know what i would do if i didnt have my in dash mp3 player. i dont own a single cd, they are all just burned mp3 cd's that i toss and make new ones when they get scratched,or old. at 10 cents a CD+R, i can afford to make new ones on the fly. and having the ability to add new stuff to them is great too! my new kenwood even plays acc files. (which will be here tuseday ) _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | All of my music is also burned to MP3 (over 12,000 tracks, all 192kbps, all tagged)... for use at home and at work. I would consider an MP3 player in the car only if it had an internal HD with a couple hundred Gigs of space, so that I could upload my entire collection and expand it as it obtained new songs.
The advantage to MP3 is having all your music in one place. The advantage to an in-dash head unit is that there aren't any external devices, wires, etc. I need it all in the dash, and I'd like it to look stock, too. I ask for way too much! _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| It's possible if you have the time and money
But I though I had a lot of tracks @ 9500! 12000 is a lot!

| My tape adapter for my iPod has been stuck in my cassette player since August. A well intentioned friend of mine tried to get it out, but I think the pins inside are bent.
Sooooo, I'm going to replace the entire head unit, hook up my Sirius (just got it) and my iPod. The stock head units aren't known for being that good. Personally, I think they are one step above record players.
