PostSubject: Re: Fuel Injector Cleaning   Fuel Injector Cleaning EmptyThu Nov 01, 2007 6:24 pm

nice!
injector cleaner doesnt work, and you just proved that yet again.
i die a little inside everytime someone pays $9 for an 8oz bottle of "SUPER OCTANE 110" or "+ 5mpg inj. cleaner". yea adding 8oz will really increase 20gals of 93 up to 110 octane. no
but seriously though try running some sea foam in the vac line now. thats is something that actualy does work at cleaning up carbon in the upper intake.

It's not too bad. You need to disconnect the fuel lines, then five nuts holding the rail on.

On an engine this old, I'd probably just replace the o-rings when reinstalling the injectors. smile

So, after removing them do you let them soak? And then scrub them?

I'm getting ready to do this and this question was never answered?? scratch

I figure as bad as Silver Arrow #10 was maintained they probably used the cheapest gas they could get too, and even with good gas with 180,000 miles on it I'm sure the injectors are a mess. headshot
I've already done the seafoam in all three places so I figured this would be a good time to clean the injectors?

Fel Pro Fuel Injection O-Ring Set
Part Number: ES70599
I'm not positive they fit yet, going to do it tomorrow, but that is what they listed for it.

99Rivman,
Did the FelPro O-rings work.
I'm going to swap my injectors soon and would like to know if I have to go to the dealer for proper O-Rings or not.
Thanks

do you just let them soak and them spray them off with brake cleaner? what do you soak them in?

thanks,

I'm not sure. So far i haven't been able to locate a price online.Ill call the distributor as soon as the hour rolls around. They are also available used. This is an area many shops don't get involved in? i cant understand why? could it be that chasing "other" problems is more rewarding? Beats the hell outa me..

My guess is because many online places can get great coverage by shipping the injectors around. Take that mrinjector.us site you referenced in other threads. Injectors are so small, it wouldn't be a problem for me to ship them mine from Canada. And the overall amount of work they do on each injector is great for only 16$ each.

very true. regarding mrinjector,he gave me an 1 extra of everything and on the o-rings a couple more. And $5 bucks from where i am is good. But I bet i could turn a profit servicing them. There are classes to take to teach you everything you need to know, but no certification that i can see.
