Fuel Injector Q&A Empty
PostSubject: Fuel Injector Q&A   Fuel Injector Q&A EmptyMon Jul 07, 2008 10:06 am

I just changed my lower intake manifold and I noticed I tore the lower rubber/boot off of one of the injectors. Do I need to replace that injector or should it still work ok? AutoZone ordered one, but I hate to drop almost a hundred bucks if I don't need to. I put it back together for now until the part comes in and it seems to be running ok. Thoughts?

Do you mean the O-ring? They should be replaced if you damage one. The rings are available from ZZP for $6 or so.

Aaron are those Series 1 rings?

I think they are different S1 vs S2, but Autozone should be able to get the Fel Pro rings. O rings usually run 4 to a box for about $3

Edit: LOL I hit Autozone's website and proved myself wrong..hahaha ES70599 is the part number according to them. Same as S2.

It's not the O-ring. It's the pointie (< not really a word) part at the bottom. The rubber is broke off flush to up to the metal.

Must be a different injector than the one used in Series II. It's a different part according to RockAuto. Replace it, but don't spend $100 at AutoZone. Go with remanufactured from RockAuto:

http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php

Mine were $28 each after core. Series I should be similar.

Oh..the pintle cap. Hmm I think ebay may have had a rebuild kit with filter baskets and pintles. Or just ask around. Someone on the forums has to have some laying around.

Thanks guys! Appreciate the help. I just hated to drop a Franklin if I didn't need to. That a lot of money that could go elsewhere.
