| I dont like any of them really to be honest. If I had to pick one I guess it would be the Panther's though. They all look too ricey to me for a Riv. I guess there arent many muscle car style rims for FWD cars. I used to my RWD cars | |

| The first pic would be nicer if it didn't ride so high.
Those roof chops are too extreme.

| First one I guess, though none do much for me.
www.tirerack.com has a place to "try out" rims.

| 1998 Riv, I went to the site you posted the link to...and I liked the try it out feature. AMerican Racing had our Riv's on their try it out section too, but now its gone. Anyway, after going through over 50 wheels that were listed for the Riv. These struck me as a nice cross between a muscle car feeling 5 spoke and a modern 20 inch bling wheel. I used a white Riv because mine is white...and when seeing this wheel on the generator on this site...the grey areas blend with the lower rocker and bumper plastic, while the polished parts almost look white. Click the image bellow for a larger view. At first they may seem like copies of the Panther wheels that Jack posted, but upon closer inspection they are quite different stylistically. | |

| Looks good. I personally have not been able to find aftermarket rims yet that I'd put on the Riv, either because of appearance or price. I think my preference leans towards something in chrome, 5 spoke. | |

| 1998 Riv, I agree. Either most don't look that good, or they're ridiculously expensive. Most often, both. And, as I'm seeing in this thread, everyone's got their own opinion on what looks good, so the minute you put on custom rims you subject yourself to "Why'd he pick those ugly rims?" You're going to look like an idiot to somebody, maybe most people.
I'm not 100% on any of these rims. My favorite rim is the Panther. My least favorite rim, on the Riv, is also the Panther. I'm sure it's possible to customize the Riv with a muscle car theme, but that's not the direction I'm going with. My theme is "What it would have been if GM had put another 20,000 into it." I want to weld back on the corners GM cut, and recreate it as a higher class luxury performance coupe.
My favorite rim here, as pchopped on the Riv, is the Arelli. I'm not saying it's a fantastic rim, but it doesn't scream "rice" to me, and I want the chrome lip that echoes the chrome trim of the wheel well. Also, the Arelli is cheap. 20's for less than $800 (plus shipping and tires of course). 18's for $542. That's the best deal I've found.

| I'm not trying to make the RIv appear to be a muscle car, thats just my preference in style I guess you could say. Probably one of my all time favorite wheels is the Torque Thrust D's and the wheels I put on the Riv in that simulation I posted remind me of a 21st Century take on the classic gun metal 5 spoke design. While appealing to the today's enthusiast as far as size and styling go. 20's on a Riv is as big as I would go. I think they fill the wheel wells out just enough. | |

| I've seen cars with roofs chopped down that far too, but I wouldn't want to drive one. I'd need the sunroof widened so my head could stick up through it. | |

| Jack, I like the Arellis best, too. The Panthers caught my eye first, and wowed me for a second, but I didn't like them much from the side. The remind me of flowers. I like the wide spoke wheels used on the GTO, but not sure how they'd look on a Rivera: _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

I'll chop it since I've been using your pics. Are you having a problem with the way the 20" rims are riding? I'd like to go light too, but on the other hand I really like the way the 20's fill out the wheel well on a dropped Riv. Aaron - The GTO rims would look like they belong on a GTO

| They ride great. Other than being heavy, I have no problems at all with them.
Iv'e really invested alot into the suspension and braking and now just starting to invest in the engine. I'd like something lighter (maybe even in 20") to take full advantage of the mods... like a five spoke like the Racing Hart C5 with a deep lip or turtleman's style wheels with a deep lip... whatever I end up with will have the insides blacked out again or maybe go with a gunmetal...
Does anybody have 19" adn 18" rims on their car I can look at and is anyone riding on a rim wider than 9"?
