| You're kidding me. They designed a cantilevered single spoke wheel, then add two more spokes "for balance". Very interesting. I actually like them but I agree it does not look good on any vehicle. From the looks of them, I would pair the rims with a vehicle that is more boxy and futuristic in its styling. I'm thinking Accord Coupe, Mustang, Prelude. I've always been interested in cool rims and wheels but have the scruples and beer budget to stick with the boring basics. This is a great option for a show car or something that doesn't get a lot of use. Not so smart for a daily driver. I'd like to share with you the ones I've had my eyes on. Morgana And you can see in the pic that they look sucky on an SUV but could you imagine them on a clean reflective piano balck Riv? Nice! | |

| I would reserve both those Forgiato rims for a Syd Mead futuristic armored personnel carrier. Or they could be in a remake of Damnation Alley. | |

| There is a common design principle, especially in products structural in nature: "Form follows function". These 1-spoke rims are the opposite - they compromise function in order to achieve a targeted form. As for style, the result is subjective, depending on taste. However you like or dislike these wheels, just know that it's all looks, no substance.
Forgiato "1-spokes", which cost $15k/set btw, have no place on a Mercedes AMG, Porsche 911, or any other performance-oriented car, because these wheels offer no functional gain - unlike so many other options out there (ei. BBS). Putting them on your ride is making a strong statement that you value looks only, nothing else. For the owner/driver of a high-end sports car, it indicates they don't know much about their car or it's capabilities - in other words, they're driving the wrong vehicle. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| That's one way to look at it. Another way would be to acknowledge that those performance cars are themselves largely non-functional on public roads, especially the ones in an urban center. Poser rims sell because posing is all those cars will be doing 99% of the time. The Forgiato one spoke is functional, on a social level. It's going to get more than one hip hopper laid.. | |

| I can see that angle. You're right, the high-end sport car is non-functional 99% of the time, but it's nice to know it has real potential to be used for motorsport - that's part of why buyers pay the premium price. The other parts are brand and styling (status, sex appeal). I could see running the 1-spokes for street duty, with an extra set of BBS for the track. But I just don't think most who actually drive their car to the limit would be interested in these wheels. The Forgiatos don't say, "I'm fast". They say, "I spent more on wheels than I did on the car itself." _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

That roof chop! Has anyone done this? I know fieros get chopped all the time. What is the ~budget for a project like this? Besides custom body work, the hood chop is ultimate.' I image you would need all new glass all the way around. other than that, a few cuts with the sawzall?
