I had a similar experience with my first '71 Riviera 30 years ago. Got home from the hospital and a cop was parked in front of my house with a ticket. - - great. Of course, it was only "Driving without due care", the catch-all violation they use here in Nevada to make money off someones accident. I was definitely speeding (120), but didn't admit it. (the 600 ft. of skid marks made them suspicious, though!) Also, I wasn't wearing seat belts because the car's previous owner had CUT them off down near the mount. I'd only had the car for 3 weeks and was planning to get some seat belts. At the time (late 70's), there wasn't a seat belt law in this state. If they're available, I always wear them though - always have.

Anyway, recover soon and get your new replacement Rivvi going soon, eh?

Shoulda stayed in the car and had the police get you out. At least then they'd be working for the money they charged you.

And could've pretended you passed out and they'd carry you up the hill.

Glad to hear that you are alright mostly, and that you still have another riv.... hopefully the riv kept you safe because they are built very well, and you would be in alot worse shape I bet if you were in a honda oy toyota

i do have a close friend here that is a cop but with my luck he wasnt on duty at the time of the accident, and the only reason the bastards are hitting me with these other tickets is because NO SEATBELT is a secondary offense which means they have to give me a first offense lol....good part of the accident tho, the insurance company totaled the car but they cant give us a check yet because there going to include the full flowmaster exhaust, the american racing wheels, all the new body work and transmission work and the new paint job, so at least im not getting screwed out of all that

Wow, you must be the only person here who told the insurance company about their mods.

I have a receipt for every mod on my car. They will honor it if presented properly after a theft or wreck. (receipts, pictures, etc)

How much did they charge you for it?

Guys im seriously had the worst week of my life, I MISSSSS MY CAR!!! I went down to the junkyard to clean my stuff out of it and that was the first time ide seen it since the accident and as i pulled in Hinder: Without You started playing and it reminded me of my car, its pathetic all these sad love songs are reminding me of my car :'( i want to wake up and see it stil sitting in my driveway

Where are the American Racing rims when you crashed?

the american racing rims were on the car when i crashed, all except the passenger front, that was an original riviera rim cuz i was in a hurry one day and someone had put a knife thru that tire so i just grabbed one off the other riv lol

the drivers side didnt have no where near as much damage as the passenger side did, but my question is...where the helll is my canvas top lol cuz nobody saw it at the accident scene and its NOT on the car anymore

I personally think this is gay if you ask me, because im a minor the newspaper isnt allowed to use my name in reference to the accident so they put "a 17 year old female from Mainesburg headed westbound on Route 6 in a 1995 Buick Riviera" that right there will tell anyone around here it was me because im the only one that can afford to drive a riviera around here lol, and they also listed my citations in the paper before they even sent them to me in the mail. dont u think thats kinda screwed up

yeah its gay alright... but they aren't going to get sued now by some pissed off parents for using thier daughter's(who is a minor) name. its the damn lawers....
did they have a pic in the paper of ur crashed up car???

no thank god, it dont matter anyway everyone new about the accident before it made the paper, this is such a small town that i had a freaking audience watching them pull the car up out of where it was, my moms boyfriend said there were about 50 cars pulled over watching it, i was like dam i wonder how many of them wished i had died lol

Wow, I feel sorry for you, Kelly. I was probably about 19 (maybe 18) when I totaled my first Riviera (a '71 boattail, which was also my first car.) I too came from a very small town and everyone knew about it, too. I can't remember if it was in the local paper or not, but because of the lack of stories, I supose it was. Anyway, I'll bet you're just sick to the stomach about this. Sorry
