| sorry to tell you all but i think im done with the Riviera's :-( last night i had a dream that i was driving my spare riviera and something went wrong in the front end (kinda like the one i wrecked) and i rolled it and got trapped inside, so i think ill call it quits on the riv thing and go buy myself a new challenger :-) | |

| consitering that the Riviera is such a tank that it BROKE GM's head on impact test mahine, and had to have its impact rating done on the machine for small trucks, I wouldn't worry about its safety in a crash...
We can't lose one of the few female riv drivers! Don't do it! _________________

We can't lose one of the few female riv drivers! Don't do it! We need you, Kelly!!! (actually, my girlfriend has a '97 supercharged Riv, and I gave the one I bought to my mom (well, not the title - - )), so we have a couple other female Rivi drivers. But one of the reasons I thought it would make a good car for my mom is I figured it would be safe. Really solid, heavier than a lot of cars, modern safety stuff like airbags everywhere, etc, etc. Hope you keep your "spare"

| Kelly: cars have to fold (your words, I would say crumple) in collisions so that the energy of the collision does not bang the drivers and passengers around.
The question actualy is - in the collision were there any dents in the passenger compartment, and could you still open the doors?
Think of it kinda like eggs in a carton. The passenger compartment is kinda like the egg and the front and back of the car (and the doors to some extent) are the carton. If the front/rear/doors get dented or whatever but the passenger compartment is still undamaged, it's kind of like if you dropped a carton of eggs and the carton got messed up but none of the eggs broke. That would be an amazing carton, wouldnt' it?

| its a bummer that ur new one isnt as nice as the folded one before it got folded. to walk from a car that looks like that- i would think that its very safe. | |

Just imagine if you were in this: Or this: Or this: Or this: Or this: I don't know if we would be talking to you right now. Sorry to be so grim, but the Riv is a big car - just imagine how badly a smaller car would've been? These are all common cars I see teens driving - I would fear for my life if I owned any of those cars because they're just so unsafe. Would also like to point out, hitting stationary objects like trees and walls never ends well for much of anything. Glad that you're not hurt, sad to see the Riviera in such a shape. The passenger side definitely looks like it's been through hell and back. Too many people lose their life to shit like this, so it's good that you aren't just another statistic. Best of luck with whatever you decide to do!

| I didn't care for much newer American cars until the GTO came out and the '09 Camaro. Of course I like the Chevy SS's and the Cadillacs and V-series but I'm talking realistic goals - none of the new stuff impressed me at all. Always loved new Euro cars though, always been desirable to me. Good luck with that project, although I'd be careful since I don't think those had seatbelts! | |

Or head rests? Or disk brakes? What about safety glass? Makes this: Look as safe as a Volvo.
