| Derek's tip of the week for you is not to pour water into your gas tank. Do that and tuning should be a snap. | |

| So for now I'm running the open cone single elbow "HAI" that came with the motor. I am seriously thinking of keeping it... the sound really is incredible! It's only there under <50% throttle, and it really does sound awesome!
I'm not one for sounds, I much prefer a quiet car, but this thing sounds GREAT when you get on it!

| The EVAP is hooked to the fitting right after the IAC/TB. The PCV is hooked into a little pipe in the intake tube, after the MAF and before the TB. | |

what about your evap sensor? you know that little thing right after the inlet of the gen v? there is that little hole with the single bolt to hold it on?

I'll have to take some pics if my above description doesn't cover it... I don't know what the ports are called, I just knew where to hook them up.

| I think Derek blocked off the stock evap port on the GV because if you tried to use the stock Gen V valve, the TB hit it. | |

| Have you got any pic's of what you are talking about.? I'll be installing my GenV possibly next month so I'd like to know what it should look like and how it should be setup / installed. I'll be buying the ZZP N* kit. I've seen the deekster's engine but didn't take any pic's of the set-up. Maybe next time I go over there I can look a little more and take some pic's. I always forget to bring a camera though. And it would be good to have the photo's on here for other people to reference. | |

| update today: Fixed all the 1/8 vacuum lines, made a brass T for the EVAP/PCV, made some new Taylor 8mm spiro pro wires (custom length style, looks great), filled up with a new CLEAN tank of 93 shell. Result: running AWESOME, even in the 92 degree heat! STFTs and LTFTs are all close to 0, so my old tune is pretty damn close to my new motor. Several WOT runs up to 85, O2s at 920-940, timing at 14-15, no KR. Pulls like crazy and whines like a bastard! I opened some eyes on the highway that's for sure. I can't wait to go to the track!! Woohoo!! Needs a fresh oil change and fuel filter before too much more whipping, but still it's alllll there. | |

What does the EVAP and PCV have in common. I thought they were separate lines. Maybe after Travis takes some pic's it will be more clear...or maybe you could take some pic's of your set-up and post them here. I would appreciate it. Congrat's on the "NEW" car !!!!!!!! Did you use the intake set-up i saw while I was there or did you put the FW/OEM/Modded set-up in.? Thanks

| Rick, it's stil running the hot air open cone intake. Underhood temps today were scanning as about 140!
The evap and Pcv both want intake vacuum on a large port, so I teed them off the throttle body port and capped the hole in my intake tubing. I'll try to get some pics up soon (tmrw)

| So, after having solved all the little glitches how is it running now. Have you run out of fuel using the 42.5# injectors with cam and other mod's? Should I expect to increase the capacity of my injector's when I install the Gen V.?? Currently running stock injectors. What is the flow rate for stock injectors anyway.? | |

| Stock injectors are 36#. I upgraded to 42.5s long ago be ause I was trying to lick kr on the 3.2 pulley on the gen3and dumping in fuel to compensate. I am not close to maxing out the 42.5s and to my surprise, the new motor had stock injectors in it! So, I would say you should wait and see if we are maxing out your injectors befor upgrading. It's not difficult to do later and might turn out to be unnecessary. | |

| I've stayed away from 42.5# injectors because I fear they would decrease my fuel efficiency. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| i can vouch they wont make ur MPG go down. but its all about how you drive. the last few tank fulls i have been light on the gas. just crusing around town, with a few WOTs here and there i get about 23-24 MPG average for a gas tank. BTW thats with 3.29 gears, and im cammed. | |

| How are you measuring this MPG? By average, do you mean combined? Do you have fuel records from pre-cam/42.5# to compare? _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |
