I've heard of many guys tapping the LIm as if it were a regular bolt tap, which frequently results in leakage or the plugs loosening.

Dimes have yet to fail me or cause any leakage.

Guess as long as you install either properly, they will work properly.

It's not so much that they are slow at shipping. If a part isn't readily available or back ordered from Detroit, then it takes awhile.
I've had some stuff get to me in a week or less, other stuff longer. You can check the status of your order through their site and see if they are waiting on parts or have shipped, etc
.
BTW, since your waiting on parts, do you have any time to throw a tune in mine.??

Yes, if you use a regular thread tap and an AN plug you stand a much better chance of leakage in a pressurized coolant or water application.
Any plumbing fitting you see, be it household or automotive, will be NPT for a reason. The tapered threads when done correctly and sealed well will not leak.
Just look at any early water pumps on cars that have ports blocked off. Those are NPT plugs that are used.

Well after a looong day, I just got back from a drive. It went like this... reassembly, no problem, a few hours. Still no start. frown After double and triple checking every sensor, diagnostic, etc, and everything passing, we looked at some of the gas and figured out there was a ton of baaaad shit in the tank. Pumped out 12 gallons of wierd looking liquid, filled with fresh gas and finally got it running again. First stop at the gas station to dilute with a full tank of 93 and... well next week I'll fill up again, replace the fuel filter and THEN start tuning...

But it's finally up and running!!! happy happy

BTW I owe RickW and BillBoost a big thank you for today's assistance - Rick stopped by for some mid-afternoon tuning work and ended up spending 8 hours with me diagnosing the problem! BillBoost was very helpful with repeated phone calls, and some excellent ideas, all of which pointed to that everything was working properly, but some great suggestions for troubleshooting!

If Rick hadn't been there I would have demotivated (quit) a while before, and it would have been another week or two before I figured out there was bad gas.

Your not the only one that has done that.

Some dumbass put water in one of our "Racing Fuel" jugs and had it sitting in the truck with all the other Racing Fuel jugs and it got poured into my racecar...
That caused a lot of trouble. We ended up replacing everything from the carb to the fuell cell....including the pump.

That wrecked '00 gtp we parted... Had to drain it's gas before we got rid of the car... It was about 6 months old plus the tank had been opened up about two mnths before for the fuel pump and never closed back up...

Ugh

the good news is that it's running great!

Derek...glad I could help. You nearly got a visit from me except I had to get back to the west side of the state.

How about doing a troubleshooting thread with some of the things. It would probably help all when they are diagnosing.

The procedure is a GIF image and for some reason it won't allow me to copy and then paste or display image.
I've tried changing the properties of the image (from GIF to anything else) with no luck
