| some advise being that i do autobody. doing a full color change is not cheap. you need to pull the motor, full interior,a nd truck. so unless if you have cash coming out ur ass i would try to stick with the stock color | |

| The Riviera Owners Association(ROA) website lists every color inside and out, and options available on all years of the Riviera. I can’t provide a link to it as it is in a part of the website that is password protected for ROA members only though. | |

| you can also get dealer brochures on ebay that will give you color patches for inside and out, plus list all standards and optional equipment. 95, 96, 97 and 98 are all a little bit different, but the big change in options came in 95 to 96. _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32Â 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black. | Hey man sorry to report but your #15 for exterior colors is way off man. Santa Fe Red Pearl is not purple, it is closer to # 3 Bordeaux Red Pearl except it is redder, brighter red I should say then bordeaux. | |

| The image is this. Traffic is riding down the highway at it's normal rate. My Riv crests over the hill in the opposite direction a good distance down the road. Immediately the Riv demands attention.
Butterflies with anticipation, we must know what that is!
The goal is to create a Riv that you just don't see on the road. There will be no situation outside of posers that I will see one like it in the wild. The Racera(green Riv) passed this with flying colors.
The green chosen for the Racera was a careful and thought out decision. It was rare for the model I chose it from. Then, I wanted a color that showcased the Riv's sporting nature while also keeping it classy with a hue of green that could pass for factory.
When someone has to ask, "I never seen a Riv in that color, is it factory"?, or "Is that a 2002"?, and once "I never seen any Rolls Royces around here, what year is it"? That's the stuff my soul feeds on. It doesn't care for the taste of the attention that's got from acidic metallics with obviously after-market rims and faux fur carpet. No that's for those who don't fully take the time to consider all options. They are looking for the shock and awe, even if its negative.
So in short, I want it different. This time around keeping it classy can take a back seat to sporty.
And though black is by far one of Riv's best looks, I find painting my Riv to be an opportunity to go beyond.
And when I saw my old Riv sitting in that lot, a fresh vibrant green amongst the dreary cold and wet of the season, and still having a hint of seller's remorse, I knew I rocked that project.
Time to start another. | |

| Hmmm - and you have the Charcoal interior so almost anything goes...
A few suggestions:
- there was a reddish orange metallic used only in 1997 I think. I almost bought a Riv that color but the owner turned out to be a 'curbstoner' and wanted more for the car than I was wiling to pay. I got one on year newer with somewhat less mileage for much less money, from a dealer. I have to admit, though, that color sopke to me if only because it was the only Riv that color I ever saw. Later found out it was a factory color alright but not popular at all for some reason. My guess is that these things look different in person than in the brochure and the Riv is no exception, people probably looked at it in teh sales brochure and said What?!?. Look at it on the car, then Say What!!
- "old gold" metallic - not the brassy yellowish gold of a chocolate coin, rather the 'old money' golden bronze with a little olive of a St. Tropez suntan. Last time I was in Denver I had an Infiniti rental car that color, I think they call it "sahara sandstone." If it was my car I'd also put in a blond wood dash kit (Birdseye maple or some such, Infiniti does rosewood I think they are missing it here) and maybe have an upholstery shop put matching color inserts in the seat backs and rears of the cushions.
- If you think that country club you took pictures by looks classy, you can get the same effect for your Riv with a buttercream (standard or metallic) color paint. One of the favorite cars I owned was a buttercream colored 1986 Dodge Lancer ES (and with the turbocharger it was spirited, too. FYI here is some nomenclature--a Neck Snapper is 0-60 in about 4 to 5.5 sec or less, Pretty Quick are our cars, 0-60 in 6 to 8 sec., spirited is 0-60 in less than 9, acceptable is 0-60 in about 10 - this is a design standard for modern interstates by the way - and City Car is anything slower than 11 ) Again if you do the buttercream I'd get a blond wood dash kit of some sort.
Hope this helps.

| im repainting mine this coming summer Mettalic sunset orange. Its a factory color on some of the new chevs and its getting a little more common than it used to be but is still a semi rare color to see. I think it would some what be the same effect as going with the green as mentioned. | |
