| I'll also admit you've got one of my weak points. For some reason I love a glossy black car. It's definitely my color of choice. | |

| I'd keep the Diamond White. That is a premium color and it's making a comeback in a big way with the Lucerne and LaCrosse.
Mine was your basic dark teal color with deep scratches from the first owner. If I had the plearescent white I'd keep it. | |

| There is nothing sharper than a black car with chrome rims...of course i'm a little biased. ANY car looks good in black! Corey is right, every dent will show and it's a bitch to keep clean. BUT, it will turn EVERY head. You know what they say, once you go black, you'll never go back. If you don't like to wash your car, I'd recommend keeping it white though. | |

| I never cared for a white car, but I now have a pearl white '98' and like the pearl. I had a '96' dark green and really liked that color. I would have rather found a '98' in dark green, but didn't. The pearl white doesn't show dust like a dark car would. My '65' is a light seafoam green and it is an awesome color for not showing dust and dirt. I did have a black '58' Buick Special Riviera 2 door HT . It was awesome looking with all that chrome, but man what a full time job for detailing. I've always liked dark colors, but they are a bitch to keep clean..... | |

| I'd have to say nay to the flat black idea. It's hard to get away with on any car much less a riviera. Gloss black rims with a chrome lip would make the flat look even more goofy, IMHO. If your pearl white is in good shape, I'd just keep it but If you really want to paint it, you can't go wrong with black. If you want to go for all out exquisite though, I'd shoot for a non factory color if you're going through all the trouble in the first place. If you're careful, there are some bold shades or red or green that I think could look fantastic, and set your riviera out from the crowd big time. Black, in contrast, is conservative. | |

| One idea - look at the dark metallic colors that Buick used on the '99s.
Another idea - a dark, almost black red metallic or black with red metalflakes.
Third idea - a "legacy" color like british racing green (a real legacy color), metallic yellow (think "sixties"), cream, or sky blue (think 'fifties')
Rationale - Rivs look kind of nice in dark colors. On the other hand, if you are looking to be "different" have to get into thinking about what others overlook. In the quest for a 'new' color palette, people are not likely thinking about some of the old colors that were attractive in and of themselves.

| Wow, that car is really gay. I'd say a dark, metallic color, like a deep blue, red, or green. You could also fade to black towards the back. Or you could do a two tone of cream and brown or something, following the creases that start at the lights and go to the trunk for the color divider. Not the hood/window/trunk lid line, but the crease that's in the quarter panels. | |

| haha Corey, you already have that thing outdone by a long shot as is, in my opinion. Is that a stratus? Honestly, I don't think that it was a bad looking car in stock form but to put it nicely, my tastes differ by worlds from the owner of that car. Also to be fair, I should state that I have very low appreciation for straight up show cars. | |

yep do what YOU want, dont try to satisfy anyone else. after all it's you're car, right? as long as you walk out to it every day and go "man i love my car" or "i wish i had a camera right now". <- i say that every time i wash it i'm afraid you will be changing things for the wrong reason's if your basing it on what others will think. but on the other hand a fresh paint job will make you a more proud owner. i love it when someone goes "that car is pimp" or "damn, what a sleeper!". it makes my day just to catch someone looking her over in the parking lot what point am i making?? i'm really just procrastinating calc II homework on a Saturday night _________________ 1996 with 254k miles, L32 4" FWI -> ported N* -> Ported Gen V w/3.0" Pulley, Stage 3 Phenolic I/C, ZZP FMHE, 1.84 RR, Headers and 3" pipe to mufflers, F-body brakes, and lowered on Eibachs. -RIP AMG C400 White on black.
