| Well Robo, thinking usually gives me a headache. But I will give it a try. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. It is only important that you like it. The navy blue and cream white are a nice classic combo if that is the look you are going for. Done properly I think that would look really good. I personally like my custom work to look like the car may have been a factory special edition. But that is just me. As far as two tone, don't feel trapped by the body lines on the car although the paint scheme should compliment your body style. Some two tones just look like you put used parts of a differant color on your car. Find colors that you like and maybe a complimenting strip color to separate them. Then just use your imagination. Do a mock up on the car with fineline tape to get an idea of what you imagine. Also a fourth color could be added by a pinstriper to accent the stripe that separates the primary and secondary color. At our age though, we don't always have great imaginations. A younger mind may help putting your ideas in motion. Not to young or you will be driving a rice burner with decals on it. Alot will also depend on the skill of your painter. The possibilities are endless if the painter has the skill to pull it off. If you find the right guy, he should be able to guide you in your decision. Just make sure he captures what you envision. you will be the one living with it. | |

| There was a Veyron that was all black except for the hood, which was red. I liked that one much better than the usual two tone pattern.
The one thing that would put me off of it is, somebody would think you'd damaged your original hood and grabbed one off a different color car in the junk yard. At least, that's what one of my friends said. But if your car is super clean, surely no one would think that.

| That's the Hermes Veyron. To be fair, the interior and rear wing are also red, but it does look like just the hood from some angles. If you tried this with a Riviera, I think people would assume you damaged the hood and replaced with a different one, even if the car was super clean. I think some would think the same of the Hermes Veyron if they didn't know it was a $2 million car. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| The Veyron, like all Bugattis, has a unique and dramatic body sculpting. The two-tone option is for fenders and doors finished in a secondary color. The scooped 1/4 panels sets up nicely for this paint scheme. The hood flows into the roof and the entire rear clip. I have seen some like the red and black one that AA posted. But I believe these were custom built to customer spec. I don't think this two-tone would work on many cars. Thats just my opinion. But if you will buy my Riv for $1.7 million I will paint it any way you want.
Anyway, you may want to check out "House of Kolor" paints. The have some awesome colors and some really cool effects. You may find exactly what you have been dreaming of. I think they may offer instructions on custom painting also. For me, putting it all together is more enjoyable than driving it. Don't stress yourself. Just enjoy the process.
I am currenly restoring my '65 Eldorado. I work on it when I feel like. People get on me to get it done, but then I have to worry about where I park it. will it rain. where to store it in winter. I enjoy working on it when time and money permit. And every year it appreciates.Maybe after one ride, it will be time to sell.

Im hip! i agree 100% dave! but here is the paint i thought would look dynomite.imo the way it wraps around is what im after. not the pic that AA posted, although nice, this one does more justice to the rivs lines. gloss black where the dark gray is,and house of Kolor root beer candy for the light gray with blacked out flat black, all chrome flat black except the grill.. that would look nniiicceee frontal view of a different color similar scheme and color to the one JR came up with, personally i like JRs rendition, the black line overlapping the fender by a couple inches, makes more sense to me for the riv. overtly trying to copy the veyron scheme might end up looking ridiculous

BAH! every homie from here to detroit has that scheme! in one color combination or another. bottom left is the way to go. this is a idea that im seriously thinking about. its simple and inexpensive. this and a gold lstripe the length of the body with a thin black stripe on top of that. i have a book of 24karat gold leaf ,enough for both sides, with flat black rims with a red stripe running the diameter ...nice

| they are OK but I think your dissatisfaction is that none of them 'blend' with the lines (the swells and creases) of the car, Neb.
Try just a black clearcoat with red metalflake and alcantara inserts for the seat upholstery to replace some of the leather?
Try a blood red instead of fire-engine red in a wave about halfway up between the bodyside moulding and the crease running along the tops of fenders and doorskins?

| Here is the bugatti scheme the one thing i would change from the bugatti to the riviera is the front i would make the two colors on each side of the car connect in the front bumper instead of being seperate. | |

Im not a big fan of that paint scheme. i think i am justy going with the two tone one color on top one on bottom or the backwards round #3. Those are the two I am debating on. Paint is coming in a week and a half so i need to decide. Paint is going to be Nighthawk Black Pearl and Candy Apple Red Mettalic
