| Called Menzari today - the receptionist said the rims weigh "almost 40 lbs." !!!! That's waaaaay too much. She didn't seem to have it together and was surprised I would be asking about weight. I almost think she gave me the number for a bigger rim (it doesn't look like it could be that heavy) but I don't know what to do to find out. | |

| I'm betting those weigh between 20-25 lbs each. She's probably giving you a packed weight or some other figure that's useless to us. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Are they steel or alloy? That makes a big difference. If steel, it would not suprise me that they weight 40lbs. My last ones weighed 52lbs. My new ones are 20" alloy and they still weigh 36 lbs w/o tires. Stock 16" rims with tires wieghed approx 45lbs. | |

| I've emailed a dealer. I don't know if they're steel or alloy.
How much do the 20" rubber band tires weigh?

| Man, you guys are making it tough not to pull the trigger on these. I feel like this is the right look, and while I'm shocked at the weight, "nearly 40 lbs." is probably no more than 2-3 lbs more than ewolfe0050's new rims, which he seems to be perfectly satisfied with. Am I making more out of the weight than I should be? | |

| In total weight, it's only like 20-40 lbs more for the car to carry, but that unsprung weight is a bitch. It's not luxury if the car handles like a dog.
I really love the way those rims look though, I think they're a work of art. Just like the Riv's body, and they work so well together. Hard to resist!
It would mean putting off buying any welding equipment for a while, but I'm sure you understand!

| The set I have come in chrome too. MSR093. Check them out. Weight of wheels had a huge impact on my car. See if you can't get someone you know to set you up with a heavy rim that you can put on your car (dosen't matter about style) then put on the stock ones so you can feel the difference. | |

| If you were around Indy I would put the old ones on my car again then swap with the lighter ones to demonstrate for you... If you are ever in the area let me know. | |

| Corey - I'll do my best but remembering things isn't my strong point.
ewolfe0050 - It seems I need to do a tour of the tri-state area - OH to check out Aarons car, IN to check out yours, and Ill to check out 97Rivman's.
Maybe we should pick a central location and have a meet-up?

| Why don't you plan on going to the ROA meeting... It looks like a lot of people are going to be going there. I hope to meet up with several late Rivs on the way. There's a few that will be driving thru Indy. | |
