| Locating a vac leak by ear can be difficult at best. Using a mechanic's stethoscope w/funnel amplifier makes the job a lot easier. The spray test mentioned above by turtleman is another tried/true method that works.
If you can't find a vac leak, I would inspect the MAFF sensor and IAT (intake air) sensor for proper connection, dirt, or damage. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

| Here you go. https://rivperformance.editboard.com/t6381-write-up-fuel-pump-sending-unit-na-series-iihttps://rivperformance.editboard.com/t8943-faq-fuel-pump-general-questions-compatibility-troubleshooting?highlight=fuel+pumpI would advise getting the Delco or Delphi pump. It is a little more expensive, but it will last. Some of the cheaper units don't last very long, so in the end the savings aren't really there as you'll be changing it again soon... maybe very soon. Also go ahead and buy a new locking ring and gasket for $5-ish. Most are corroded by now. Cheap insurance. I just did this replacement about 6 months ago, and it was a snap. I think it took maybe an hour. Be prepared to cut and attach a new wiring harness connector at the pump though. They changed the connector at some point. The new pumps come with the new plug, wire and instructions. It is easy, but is the only "complex" (not really) part of the replacement that isn't purely plug-and-play. If your locking ring is really corroded, that can be a bear. Mine was pretty clean and still took some serious whacks with a mallet. But once it started turning, it came right off. Al | |

| Well now that's a rarity. Not often does a Fuel Pump take a dump and toss a lean code out.
Glad to hear that it's fixed.

| Lesson learned - it's worth checking fuel pressure as well when you have a lean code! | |
