| Nice, I've always like the Reattas. Would have shopped for one for my DD, except I can't get by with a 2-seater. What year is this one? | |

| "The Reatta used GM's ubiquitous "3800" V6 with 165–170 hp (123–127 kW) and 210–220 ft·lbf (285–298 N·m) of torque with the highest output in the last year of production. The car sported a fully independent suspension, 4 wheel disc brakes with ABS, and front wheel drive. Top speed was electronically limited to 125 mph (201 km/h). The Reatta was rated at 18 mpg (13.1 L/100 km) in the city and 27 mpg (8.7 L/100 km) on the highway.
Every Reatta included a leather book containing the owner's manual, a flashlight, tire gauge, among other items. Each unit came with a "Craftman Log" with the signatures of the supervisors for the assembly of the car's various systems; these slightly unusual items were an attempt to sell the mass-produced car as one built with individual care."

| Hollander Interchange Notes: Ident: MHA Ident: MKA Ident: MLA Digital E.G.R. valve. Plastic intake manifold. Buick 3.8L (6-231). VIN "L", option L27, non-supercharged. Distributorless ignition. S.F.I. Computer controlled emissions. FWD. Internal balance shaft. Tuned port intake. Eight bolt flywheel. Knock sensor used.
[300-04938] 300-4938 - (92 riviera style engine) does not fit because of lack of motor mount holes on block. - I suppose that could be worked around. To bring it up to a series II, you'd have to do about the same as you would to drop one in the seventh gen, plus figure something out for the motor mounts.
An 1988 Olds 88 would fit right in, or the '88 lesabre, of course.

| I almost got a mint condition red Reatta for my first car, but the price was about $500 more than my parents were willing to pay. | |

| The motor mount BOSSES are there, they just aren't drilled and tapped. Quick, simple fix. | |

| I almost got an awesome Reatta, but it was a practicality issue, that's for sure. Need to haul stuff, and that old engine wasn't enough power for me - but still quick! I was used to the Regal 3.8 SC at the time, which is why I wanted more.
Could you blame me?
You can't argue with that style, though - just awesome.

| I need one of these! I have no need for practicallity at all and I think the Reattas are cool looking. Unfortunately haven't seen any for sale around here for quite some time. | |

| The nice ones usually go for a bit of money, esp the 'verts. Hell, I'd pick up a beat up 'vert for a summer cruiser. | |

| Now, my dad always kept telling me how the 1970, I think, XR-7 had the 427 motor, and you could take one off the showroom floor and get those front wheels right off the ground. They sure as shit don't make cars like they used to. | |

| Hey, when that car came out, it beat the hell out of the previous model...
And yes, I am close - My brother is in Kelseyville, my uncles are in Cloverdale & Forestville, and I'm in San Rafael.

| That's really awesome that you're so close. I'm in Windsor (well yeah my profile says that). My aunt and uncle live in San Rafael. Actually, most of my mothers side of the family is from San Rafael/Bay area. It handles awesome; they pulled .92gs in the skidpad. It's almost as quick to 60 and around the same in the quarter as a stock series II Riv. I put a $500 set of headers, which really helped the engine breathe. Like I say, I would run down there on Monday and buy it, but I can't. I did email them asking if they accept trades, lol but I know for sure that they won't do that (I feel like a jerk, but why not ask). If I take it to the car mart in Santa Rosa and put it up for maybe $ 3,800, I think it would sell ok imho. They aren't high dollar, I know, but I need so much so A.) I can get a decent Riv, and B.) because I have quite a lot more into her. Maybe one day when I get my Riv I'll see you around! Your's is gorgeous! It looks slick . | |

Lol yeah so I hear. I was born in '91 so I wouldn't remember. It get's a lot of attention as well, even from the police lol. I actually had a guy from Santa Rosa High offer me 6K for it a long time back, but I was determined to keep it then .

| Yeah, so many of the guys (and gals!) on here are SO disgustingly young... I wouldn't want to part with my knowledge, but I'd sure like to "jack up my brain and drive a new chassis beneath it" | |

I graduated in '83, and died in '90... I pumped gas when I was 8 years old, doing it by ear, because our personal gas pumps didn't have automatic shut-off!
