| $30-$60 sounds high. I don't know what they're going to do, but what I picture is about 1 minutes worth of work with a cutting wheel. | |

| I would do it myself. Fit the new tips and clamp in place, then have them welded on by a shop. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |

| Who's putting on the new tips? Do you have them already? I wouldn't cut anything off until you know what you're replacing them with.
I've really grown to dislike the stock tips. I know some of you guys will disagree, but I think turndowns would look great on the Riv, not sure though if they could be positioned properly to look right.

| My thought about going to a muffler shop was they would use a torch and not a cutting wheel...thus saving more useable straight pipe. - Quote :

They are clamp on that I would have welded later if I decided I liked the new look.

| I had the muffler shop cut mine off and weld the new ones on. I bought the tips there also. I don't remember what I paid though. Why go through all that trouble to cut them off, just let them do it. | |

| That's why I hooked 'em up to the brakes and not the running lights and only using red color. Don't think there is a problem with more brake lights. | |

If you want to get them for less, eBay, eBay, eBay. I've found some quite original items for our riv's on eBay. License plate bolts and air valve caps and stems with the "R" symbol on them. Crome tips, I got 3" dual round slanted and sloped to match the bumper for $100.00 for both sides. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Exhaust-Tip-Dual-Double-walled-slant-cut-3-Outlets_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ33633QQihZ019QQitemZ8038375583QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

I like it, but you'll have to cut out part of the bumper too. I've been mulling over this center exhaust idea myself, since it's more functional than what we've got. Venga22 actually made one, banging out the spare tire area to fit a muffler in there. He used a single tip like what Trademark has, which didn't fill out the area well enough. I thought this tip looked good - But I've got no idea what it is, or if it was a one-of-one custom tip for the A-Spec concept. Here's where I'm at now - It should fit without mangling the spare tire section. If you use a glasspack muffler and mount it forwards of the spare.

| That's the way newer Vettes look: very fast, very mean. If you have 4 pipes, I hope your car can back up the look with performance. It does work better than most center arrangements I've seen, though. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^ | |
