| I think the 4 pipes is over kill....especially with only 6 cylinders...Just my opinion. With the 2 larger pipes, I might be able to utilize a different exhaust setup....as for the spare tire well.....I dont have a spare tire there so it doesnt really matter. Hell I might as well cut it all out and sheet metal right over the whole thing and make some new mounts for the fuel cell. | |

- That's the way newer Vettes look: very fast, very mean. If you have 4 pipes, I hope your car can back up the look with performance. It does work better than most center arrangements I've seen, though.
The first car I saw it on was the NAZCA C2. It looks much better on that car than on the C5 & 6. My car's not likely to be able to back up the look any time soon, but I'm not in the city where I'm going to get challenged at every stop light. I would guess that 99.5% of the people out here would not even notice the exhaust. I've thought the same thing, it would be better to wait until the engine is built to do the 4 center exhausts. But I've concluded that's not enough reason not to do it when it's convenient to do it. Why add in another step, and leave that T in the exhaust hurting performance? - 97rivman wrote:

Several guys on here have 4 pipes, they're just spaced out further. The only issue I see here is the car not being able to back up it's image. But really, this car is in the process of being built. It will eventually get there. - AA wrote:

Maybe if you used oval tips it would be visually wide enough. Otherwise you'll have to use giant tips and cut the bumper (and how safe is a cut bumper?). Have you seen a 1-3 splitter?

| True, it'd be a custom job for sure to do 3, but It'd look cool. I had oval in mind (I wouldn't put round tips on our car).
Everyone's going to jump on me, but I don't feel that "T" split hurts flow as much as everyone wants to think. No one's tested before and after to know for sure. Not saying it won't help at all, I just don't think will it make more than a few hp difference with a mild modded car. And for the money you spend on new pipes, Y-split, mufflers, tips, and the labor... for a few horses.
I've said it before, I don't think our stock exhaust is that bad except for the DP and manifolds. _________________ '05 GTO 6.0L • 6-spd • 95k miles • 0-60: 4.8s • 16.9 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:26'95 Celica GT 2.2L • 5-spd • 165k miles • 0-60: yes'98 SC Riviera • 281k miles • 298 HP/370 TQ • 0-60: 5.79s • ET: 13.97 @ 99.28 • 4087 lb • 20.1 avg MPG • Nelson Ledges Lap: 1:30 3.4" pulley • AL104 plugs • 180º t-stat • FWI w/K&N • 1.9:1 rockers • OR pushrods • LS6 valve springs • SLP headers • ZZP fuel rails KYB GR2 struts • MaxAir shocks • Addco sway bars • UMI bushings • GM STB • Enkei 18" EV5s w/ Dunlop DZ101s • F-body calipers EBC bluestuff/Hawk HP plus • SS lines • Brembo slotted discs • DHP tuned • Aeroforce • Hidden Hitch^^^ SOLD ^^^ '70 Ninety-Eight Holiday Coupe 455cid • 116k miles^^^ SOLD ^^^

I think Trademark's look good. The only thing I don't like about his setup is it preserves the T. - AA wrote:

Most guys are doing tips for appearance anyway, and sooner or later you're going to put on new mufflers anyway (I think mine are ready to go). So all the expense you're adding is to cut off the old exhaust before the T and weld in a couple more custom bent pipes. I don't know how much it would cost to get the pipes bent. It's not an especially tricky job.

| I had tips put on yesterday as an afterthought. To me, they don't look nearly as good on the car as they did in my hands. But, they are a big improvement over the crappy condition OEM tips. I'll try to post a pic tomorrow. | |

| Here they are, my Dad's little surprise for me: This next pic shows that the weld is already corroding... Oh well. I think they came out pretty good. The Rivieras should have had some sort of chrome-tipped exhaust from the get-go, instead of those terrible gray pipes. | |

| Ugh, I'm a perfectionist and I can see how they're slightly not aligned with the bumper. I don't think double dual tips really go with our cars look. I've thought about some of those nice oval tips but I've still yet to find the right one. | |

| You can both piss off, I didn't say they looked bad they're slightly crooked. Besides, I'm going to listen to someone who's made their Riv look stupid as hell by making the rear tail light blacked out and someone with a Riv that doesn't run? Why not tint the windows if you're going for that blacked out look. | |

| Wow, I didn't mean to start some big argument.
My Dad said he thought the car needed something extra, and he didn't pay much to have them put on, which resulted in a slightly imperfect look. They're actually not crooked, but they don't line up with the bumper's angle, so it gives that appearance. I'm satisfied with them, though. At the very least, both sides are identical.
Anyway, thanks for the compliments.
