| Does anyone ever tint the windshield? 70% 90%? anything at all? Will it look naked if I do not tint it? - J. Chris Davis wrote:

Please do not change your sig anytime soon. I am going to use it as a guideline of what mods I need to investigate. Thank you!

| I opted to not touch it. By state law, you can usually do the top of the windshield with tint. Although I've seen a few cars with full tint on the front in shadier areas (Waterbury and East Hartford, CT). I wouldn't recommend it as you'd be a full-on police officer magnet. | |

| I didn't have my front window done. I think it looks better without it. I don't plan on changing my sig anytime soon. It's all current anyway. | |

| I decided to cancel my appointment for Friday and go with a recommendation from a friend instead. He referred me to the place where he got his done and it looks great. Getting it done tomorrow! Hope I have time after work to get her washed and snap some pictures before the transformation! | |

| Looks good. What shade did you end up going with? Looks like it might be 35%. | |

| With the modern adhesive systems found on today's window tinting products, it is possible to have your car windows tinted even in freezing weather. However, the curing time may be extended in adverse conditions. Professional installers take the weather into consideration during installation, allowing more time to apply heat to the edges of the tint to activate the drying process. Be sure to purchase name brand high performance or metal window tinting products to insure high quality adhesives. NOTE: It can take between 7 to 28 days for a complete cure... Depending on weather and temperature. Keep those windows rolled up !!!

| Anyone have 5% on the rear sail windows? I use them all the time when I switch lanes, just wondering if that may be too dark with 20% everywhere else. | |

| I have 5% on my Camaro. It's pretty dark and can be hard to see out of them at night at times. | |

| I was only going to do 5% on the rear quarter panel windows. 35% on the rear window. and then 20% on the fronts.
I am concerned because i use the small rear windows when im changing lanes.
Might do 10% or just stick with 20% to be safe.

| I myself would probably have an issue using the 5% on the rear quarters with trying to use them. I don't know on 10%. IMO I prefer to keep all the tint the same shade all the way around. If I were to redo my camaros tint again. I'd probably go with the 35% I'm using on my Riv. | |

| I currently have 20% all the way around. It looks pretty dark in certain lights but I would want 5% for the rear glass if I were to have it redone. Imo, a dark back glass makes the sides look darker from the outside without making it harder to see from inside. Ive never liked the way cars look with mismatched side windows.
On a semi-related note. I was playing basketball with my brother and some friends at a park at the end of my street and parked my car on the parks side of the road. When we were playing, a cop pulled up behind my car and started walking toward the Riv. There were no signs indicating there was no parking on that side but told me that was the case. He was cool about it and just let me move the car. After I moved it, he pulled up next to me and said, "Just so you know, your tints are illegal" and drove away. I drive with my windows down just because the local police are really strict on window tint in my neighborhood, but I have pulled up next to a few at a light and had them look over my car and not think twice about it. It says something about the car I think because a few of my friends have been pulled over multiple times for only 35% tints!

| I've had a couple give me crap about my tint. I just carry a copy of my receipt to help prove its 35% and legal. | |

| I spent a year on reporting probation because of my window tints, and they're only 35% all the way around. I got pulled over at 3am. Window tints were the excuse....now, I had something on my person I shouldn't have, but I got pulled over because of the tints. | |

| And even on the front windshield there is some spray we can put on or you can put a "visor" across the top | |

| That "visor" is legal here too. We can limo out the back 3 windows, and put like an 8" strip across the top of the front 2 and windshield. But that just looks stupid IMO. | |

| Ha!!! Half the Grand Prix idiots around here feel the need to remind people that A) They drive a Pontiac (big giant Pontiac triangle in the back window) AND B) Giant Grand Prix sticker on the windshield. 9 times out of 10 they sport both SOOOOOOOOO ugly and stupid | |
